I'll check it out, the reviews sound good.

How are they with making things spicy on request? Nothing turns me off on a thai restaurant more than when I order it hot and it comes out mild.

one of the things i liked about thai gourmet.... the "medium" basil beef and chicken packed a good punch. erawan's basil beef/chicken was fantastic and spicy, but for whatever reason they changed the recipe about 3 or 4 months ago and now it's considerably less spicy

    i've thought about complaining.

Just got back from lunch at Nidda Thai. Overall I'd say it was very good, I'd like to go back and try other dishes. Usually on my first trip to a new Thai restaurant I judge it on Basil Chicken and a bowl of Tom Yum Goong, since those are pretty standard items. I ordered my meal and soup Thai Hot. It was nice and spicy, but not crazy hot. I'd compare Thai Hot at Nidda as being about equal to regular Hot at Thai Gourmet.

The soup was really good, although a bit different. It was a darker broth, almost had a roux look to it. The basil chicken wasn't as good as the soup, but it wasn't bad. Overall I'd say that based on my first meal Nidda is better than most Thai places I've been to, but I still don't think it's on the level of Thai Gourmet or even Kanomwan based on the items I tried today. I'll go back at some point in the near future and try something a little more adventurous.
