They failed; so did many others.

[rquoter]These Houston restaurants have health inspection violations (Oct. 5-11)

Addicted to chips and salsa? So are we. But this week's roster of health inspection violators might have you rethinking your dinner plans.
A few noteworthy Tex-Mex restaurants made the list, including the Original Ninfa's on Navigation, La Tapatia on Richmond Ave., and Taqueria Arandas on Gessner.

But late-night Tex-Mex favorites weren't the only spots that are featured this week. Violations were also found at a trendy Rice Village eatery.
Click the slideshow above to see some of the notable inspections between Oct. 5-11, 2015.

During health inspections, inspectors distribute violations that carry a weight between 1 and 25, increasing in severity. The Houston Chronicle obtained the results of routine health inspections throughout the city and tallied each restaurant's demerits for a comprehensive list of violations.

Pretty much every restaurant you ever go to will be cited for food safety code violations at some point.

So would you and your kitchen at home.

1st world problems... Seriously if you guys are scared sh#4less of these reports then please stay in the states. Your pretty much going to die if you visit outside the USA. On the other hand if you stay in 4 star luxury hotels when you travel then the type of preparation might be the same as here.

I've actually eaten at all those places at some point in my life. Ninfa's I still eat at and will continue to eat at.

I'm a little suspect about these things. Some might look at it as a negative but I feel failed health inspections add character and charm to a restaurant.

Buffets without sneeze guards are my favorite. Helps to build the immune system.

Why do you single them out in the thread title? Were by far not the only ones.

If inspectors don't force them to close, I don't see why we'd worry about it.

Actually, now is probably the right time to go eat there. Right after this report you know they're scrambling to get it clean, so it's probably the cleanest it will ever be.

I don't know. They probably score a 15 every time the inspector shows up. Sounds like their fridge was slightly too warm and they had too much chlorine in the dishwashing sink. Don't think I'd bother scrambling over that. Now Taqueria La Chilanga probably has to do some scrambling to get hot water and potable water. Or Mi Lindo Copan which was closed for a roach infestation and had a leaky pipe under the dishwashing sink dripping dirty water onto food containers.

There were several in the list at the link the OP provided that WERE forced to close. That's reason enough to have the thread by my standards.
