Go old school K-Bob's in Brenham. Though the best suggestion was Truth BBQ.

Black's BBQ in Lockhart. You go due west as if headed to San Antonio and turn straight north at a big-a$$ Buc-EE's on I-10.

There is also a Black's in Austin which I presume would be of the same quality. I realize you might be looking for something equidistant, which Lockhart is not (much nearer to Austin), but oh my God the jalapeno cheese sausage is unbelievable. That and the brisket = worth the drive.

Just saw this. Yep. I'll say I'm partial to Black's.

We went to Teague's Tavern in Round Top. I tried to convince the wife to go to Truth, but I only have so much power.

Burger was good, although slightly over cooked.

Last time I was in Texas, I went to Hruska's. That was good stuff.

I remember Royer's use to be a big deal in Round Top. I assume it still is. Never heard of Teague's but I have not stopped in Round Top in several years. As long as y'all had a good time is the main thing.
