    In my 50 years here:

1983: Alicia. Lived in Baytown. No family house was flooded. Lost power for a week
2001" Allison. Lived near Bellaire. No family house was flooded. No power outage.
2008: Ike. Lived in Montrose. No family house was flooded. Lost power for a week.
2017: Harvey. Lived in Upper Kirby. family's rental house was flooded 4 feet and was a tear down. But they did competely redo the roads and drainage over there now.

Overall, it really hasn't been too bad.

The Rudy's in my area sucks now ... drive thru never gets anything right and it takes forever, but the brisket, as usual, is hit or miss, so there's that. I'm not sure why I go there when there are better options, but there I went.

Best thing about Rudy's is their BBQ Sauce.

$5 to anyone that can recommend a quality, consistent Popeye's in the Houston area. :p

I give up on that stupid place.

There's an old adage in software development and project management:

    Fast, Cheap, Good. Pick two.
That holds true for any industry, including restaurants.

5026 Antoine - but you will need to be a little brave (bullet proof glass)
9120 Barker Cypress - much safer area

These are the two that I have found to be consistent, but you are right, it is very difficult to find a consistently good Popeyes anymore. Church's has passed them up in my opinion.

    Rudy's has always sucked.

Buy a couple of bottles of their sauce, that's it.
