Yet he was the player every team coveted after buy outs. Let's see what he can do before donning hairshirts and crying lamentations.
Whats are more important factors that helps houston beat gsw than being 100% injury free, fresh, and well rested Perfect game means a ton efficie
Generally can't argue with the original post ... Rest is really that important. I have noticed cp3 taking off games, just kind of going 50% for a game (like Denver) and then going more his full pace in the next. I'm for stuff like that and for MDA to actually let our end of the bench get some run when we're playing inferior teams. It doesn't make sense to have our starters out there logging minutes when the game's over, and we've all seen Harden play in garbage time ... why ruin his stats?!? kidding. I guess the only possible question in response to this thread is how much do we value getting the first seed to potentially have home court on golden state? I personally do think if I had to choose between the two, I'd go with a HEALTHY #2 seed rockets team than a #1 seed team put in more danger to injuries to someone like cp3 or a key rotation player. But I'm not totally sure.
I don't think rest is actually the number one priority. When you play with so many good players, you are naturally not having to work as hard. From a rest standpoint, this team is going to be fine. I would however rest Harden and play him an absolute maximum of 33 minutes in any given game. What this team really needs is playing time together so they get to know one another as best they can in the limited time there is before the playoffs. That means taking away Green's minutes and giving them to Joe Johnson effective immediately.
As long as Harden doesn't choke/quit like he did against the Spurs last year @vlaurelio we have a real good shot at this.
Not really. Look at what Pops doing with no names and 1 star. MDA better get it done, you've held Harden accountable. Same scenario with all this talent A-Z
Zoidberg has a point! Rest when available, play when necessary... In Maurice/D'Toony we trust!!! Go Rockets!!! ....... ....... .......
For the first time I am not worried about it. Last game MDA sat Harden an Paul with 25 minutes played I think they have learned the lesson
It means that if we lose we lost to a better team. That is all. The premise for your argument is faulty. If we lose in the first round then it’s on the coaching staff. If we lose in the second round then it’s still on the coaching staff. Getting knocked out in the next two rounds is due to not being good enough. This is definitely the best team we have had since 08 and arguably the most talented since the Dream era but it just so coincides with the Warriors dynasty. Can we beat them? Absolutely!! Will we beat them?! No matter what our seeding might be we will always be considered the underdog against the Warriors. For that reason alone your rest or it’s on MDA argument is erroneous. With all of this said I agree with you that our rotation needs to be deeper and several minutes need to be shaven off of Trevor’s, James’, and Chris' playing time. Playing them that many minutes is foolish... but if you really think about it is someone really more likely to get hurt because they play 36 mpg vs 32 mpg?
You are completely missing what folks are bringing up. What you are claiming is if we don't win the ring, it is due to one particular trait - minutes distribution. There are so many variables involved in winning a championship and to state that this will be the ONLY thing that will cause our downfall is a head scratcher.
