I think Harden will need a rest soon but not right now. The guy who really really needs a rest is Parsons. The arc on his 3pt shots and FT's is disappearing and the lift on his jump is going as well. The guy is clearly exhausted and he's played a lot of minutes so far. I'm really worried it might affect his health and his performance down the line. I think we can sit him out against Philly, and then again after the Clippers game. Hamilton is playing ok, Garcia seems healthy and Lin seems to be getting out of his funk. These 3 are ready to eat up some of the minutes at the 2/3 and I think we need it.
Keep our players in rhythm. Should be a blowout in the 3rd. All bench in the 4th. 28 min of run won't hurt 'em. (starters)
Let Harden play limited mins, blow them out, Harden sits. He gets his rest. I agree with posters saying not to disrupt the team rhythm that has been developed. Let Rockets do their thing, should be ez pz right? Parsons should play every single minute though. He isn't allowed to rest. After the game he also has to practice shooting as well.
Hell no.. it's the NBA. You know what those losing streaks mean? They ended at some point. Those teams eventually had a good enough game to win. We can't let that happen against us.
Morey mentioned about resting players once home court is clenched. I wouldn't expect to see much rest for the weary until then.
I am totally against the idea of rest for a young 25 year old player...Younger players play better with rhythm and anything that risks the possibility that Harden could get rusty with his shot should be clearly in the back of Mchale's head. Older players on the other hand, require rest...and they can adapt during the course of a season. There is zero reason to expect any player on this team to need that aside from Garcia, and possibly Howard. The risk of injury always exists...but injury isnt what needs to be avoid...its rust and a lack of touch... A game sure...but I want these boys to be clicking once the playoffs start...
Screw all this Risk Management BS. Sit Harden and Parsons. Let Howard and the team find a way to win. It will be good for their character come playoff time.
who do think Mchale is? Pop? he only thinks game by game and he bases his rotation on his gut feeling, flow, juice, zip, pop, ball stickyness. there's a few more i can't think of right now...
