    A combination of this:
    And this:
I respect the fast lane, though I must admit my tendency to get completely irate with tailgaters.

Too bad this wasn't a public poll, then I would have just put everyone who voted "slow down" on ignore. You are all horrible people.

I really really really hate tailgaters - so I do the passive aggressive thing and slow down gradually. I'm generally going over the speed limit anyway if there isn't traffic, and will move over if I see someone coming up behind me. If there is some traffic, I'm keeping at least 2 seconds between me and the next car - so that's usually when the tailgaiters come out to play - and it's so stupid to do that isht in traffic that I won't respond like they might like.

I move over when possible and let them by.

If I was in a lane w/ a tailgater behind me, and there was no option for me to change lanes, speedup or slow down, i.e. it's rush hour and all lanes are going about the same speed.

option 1. I turn on the dreaded left turn blinker on since it's right in front of the other driver. That is the most annoying thing you can do to a tailgater, and they tend to move over to a less annoying target to tailgate.

option 2. don't keep a steady speed. i.e. slowly increase my speed, then slowly slow down by a couple of miles/hour... repeat as necessary. The tailgater is the one that will be applying the brakes, not me. I don't do brake checks as that is generally a sign of agression.

While on the motorcycle: no issues with tailgaters

While in the car: I slow down an offer him a chance to pass. If he ignores my effort at being a gentleman, and I get the sense that this is who he is, he gets to see what my break lights look like. And if he still doesn't get it he will not only see my break lights but will notice a considerable difference in my forward motion.

My experience on the bike just tells me tailgaters are just p*ssies. They won't dare ***** with you on a bike but will ride your ass if you're in a car.

    ***** them.

I don't tailgate in general, but I'll double the buffer if the vehicle in front of me is a motorcycle. If something goes wrong, I don't want to be the guy who ran over the dude who fell off his bike. I think you have to be a whole other level of ******* to tailgate a motorcycle.

anyone ever use the two second rule when driving, you're supposed to count two seconds before passing a point the car in front of you just passed?
