Did you read my post? I said I get out of the way in the left lane, but if it's any other lane, they can just go around me. If they refuse to go around me and just tailgate me, I'll brake check. It's simple: Left lane-move, any other lane-go around me. Only exception is a delivery driver. Because 1. I can relate to them, and 2. I don't like when someone slows me down at work, so I'm not gonna slow them down while working. Edit-If it's one of those situations where everyone is going the same speed limit and someone needs to pass, I'll speed up and move over to let them by.
People who drive slow in the left lane are usually women on cell phones or people trying their hardest to start a confrontation on the freeway. No-no offense, but the people who I have driven with in the past - if they are a left lane "I GOTTA GO SLOW ITS MAH RIGHT!" driver, they are usually assholes.
I read it. I think it's silly (read: no insult intended) to single out a certain type of driver to give carte blanche passing rights to. All or nothing, in my book. I expect what I give, and I think that's fair.
I understand what you're saying, but I think I'm being fair with my judgment on who to brake check, and who not to brake check I give them the opportunity to pass. If they don't I press the brakes.
I don't know, to me 'riding someone's ass unforgivably' doesn't sound emotionless. I guess it depends how long you give them to move over before you get all emotionless on them.
I also have to object to people hiding behind the law that says the left lane is for passing only. That's not true in Texas. http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/docs/TN/htm/TN.545.htm#545.051 You only need to get over to the right if you're moving slower than traffic; you don't have to be moving faster than traffic. There are exceptions made when DOT posts a sign to say Left Lane for Passing Only: http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/docs/TN/htm/TN.544.htm#544.011 MIT agrees with me and summarizes driving rules in other states: http://www.mit.edu/~jfc/right.html Moving over to let people pass is a custom and a courtesy. The laws of Texas do not require it unless you are moving slower than general traffic (which, honestly, was probably included for tractors in the country).
I generally try to bum some barbeque or whatever's on the menu, the tailgate before the tech uh football game in 09 was awesome
Huh. I stand corrected. I guess 'unforgivably' was a bad choice of adjectives. 'Relentlessly' perhaps?

I don't know if you just found that, or were aware of it and needed to find and post... or maybe it's an inside joke or something, but that is one pathetic video.
I don't think so. At least not in the way someone driving over the limit/wrecklessly is. (i.e. from a legal standpoint of liability) Driving the minimum speed in the lefthand lane doesn't force people to pass you wrecklessly or to do so while over the speed limit. I've never seen anybody pulled over, or held liable in court for driving the minimum speed in the left hand lane, or for failure to yield that lane to faster traffic (especially wreckless/over the speed limit traffic). Have you? Honest question here, I'm wondering if there's some law I don't know about.
That same exact thing happened to me when I was a young driver, like 19. I learned my lesson about not getting out of the way.
And what exactly does brake checking accomplish? Boost your self-esteem a little? Make you feel like a big man? Quite the opposite, actually. You are stooping to their level, as well as increasing the risk of you getting in an accident as well as others behind you. Be a man and move out of the way.
It affects the flow of traffic, and can do so for miles behind. It forces people to have to pass in a dangerous way--via non-passing lanes. This isn't about the law, it's about common sense and courtesy. Traffic that flows more smoothly is safer for everyone. It's not complicated.
This is why I always keep a crapload of spare change in my car. It keeps my pitching arm in shape. I even shave my armpits to make my throwing skills more aerodynamic.
I voted same speed, but if I'm in the speed lane going less than 10 over, then I'll most likely move to the other lane given the opportunity.
