No *****. If Ron comes out against the Mavs and goes 2-19 with 3 boards, there will be 7 threads by the next morning b****ing about why we didn't trade him.
Why lock him up? Artest has actually missed more games than T-Mac these past few seasons. So he isn't exactly Mr. Ironman. Not to mention that his play up until tonights game has been a disappointment. He'll have to prove himself this season if he wants a long term with Houston.
DD.. are you actually being serious with this constant suggestion of yours..? with Tracy out for the season and possibly his career.. you want to replace him and Artest.. with Maggette..?
I can't believe the crap posted on this site sometimes..... * first everyone thinks that T-Mac can come back and play like the old TMac for the whole season even if were all watching with our own eyes and see that he should be playing in the legends game! * instead of trying to find ways of extending our only best player behind Yao....people still want trade Artest for junk. Unbelievable
but see.. what happens if he "proves himself" this season beyond a shadow of a doubt.. ? that's right.. he'll price will go up even higher than we already are doubtful of affording.. i am in favor of re-signing him.. but within reason..
he's making 40% of them.. i can't remember a time this season.. where Artest has made a habit of "jacking up" contested three point shots.. they're open spot up shots.. where the ball is kicked out to him.. or rotated to him on the perimeter within the flow of the offense..
He's played with a temporarily ankle injury for most of this season, that you could actually SEE him limping up and down the floor in the games. He has struggled for most of the season, I admit. However, if you've watched his last FOUR games like I have, I see no limp, he's lighter on his feet and more explosive, as if he was healthy. In his last FOUR games, he's gone 6-12, 6-11, 7-12, and 7-14. We're 3-1 in those games, the only loss coming in the Kneemac Milwaukee 3 point game. In fact, he looks just like the Ron Artest of last season, who was also healthy. You have to analyze why a player's play has been a disappointment. Is it a long-term injury that requires microfracture surgery like Kneemac, or a decline in skills, or simply a short term injury where after the effects wear off he will revert back to expected performance levels. We've finally gotten to see in the past 4 games the normal performance level of Artest, and it is most certainly not a disappointment.
I believe Artest is the one we need, muscle strong / mental strong. If we must do something, trade Battier and Head for a SG!
Lol Maggette.. After watching that 5-time travel in one posession, I no longer even think about that guy possibly being traded to Houston.
i say at least explore any option in resigning artest. he probably won't even talk about it until after the season, though.
