A team with the following qualities has made it to the NBA Finals:

    1. Employs Marcus Camby.
    2. Does not have any player averaging more than 17.3 PPG.
    3. Is located in a city in which an individual named Jeff Van Gundy resides.
    4. Enters the playoffs as a lower-seed without home-court advantage in round 1.

I don't want to be overly optimistic, but the evidence is kind of irrefutable. The deadline trade for Camby is really critical. I just hope he stays healthy during the playoff run.

I am lazy to check but how many lockout shortened seasons were there in history. What teams?

You cannot argue with history. Although, if you did, it likely would not answer.

Doesn't history also show a team from Texas winning it all? ;)

History also shows that team lost to Spurs.

If the season ends today, rox be playing spurs in the CF. Thats still a very good playoff run.

Evidence also shows that in a lockout shortened season Tim Duncan will win the championship :(

History shows that, in the NBA Finals, the team with the taller coach will win.

The 17.3 ppg is indication of either great defense or depth I'm guessing.

Our defense has improved quite a bit with Calembert in the post and assuming Martin comes back with a functional wiener we have a lot of players who could score.

But you need to look deeper, young Yoyo. The Spurs cannot attain true victory in an even numbered year.

KC Jones is listed at 6'1 and he defeated that 6'4 giant Pat Riley in the 84 finals

    But 84 was not a lockout-shortened season.
