Im going to buy mine tonight. I got playoff priority with a 6 game miniplan they have. Gooood prices too. I thought theyd be all jacked up. But only like a 4 or 5% increase for FINALS tickets???? I call this a steal. My Rockets rep told me the official date to the general public is 4/17 or 4/18.

A good number of fans are already wearing red...print like 10,000 shirts and hand them to everyone who doesn't have red on.

Brian Hopkins <brianh@rocketball.com> is one guy to pass the ideas on to. I've been pushing a "Be A Rowdy" campaign on him all season to little avail. Inserting cards along with the purchased playoff tickets that ask for people to wear red and "be a rowdy" alone might go a long way.

The corporate suits are more likely to pretend to care once the postseason happens, and the overall crowds have been getting much much much better over the course of the season. At the Orlando game last week, I saw many more decked out fans than we've had the last few years. People are catching on.

Get rid of the lower bowl seats...or randomly upgrade rowdy fans to the lower bowl until it's full

You need to somehow convince them that powerdancers are throwing $5 T-shirts into the stands or have Landrys crab races on the Jumbotron during the game itself. Only way I can think of.

Yes this would be so awesome. Just like Miami did last year. EVERYONE in the TC needs to be wearing a red T-shirt. Im sure it wouldn't be hard to make 18,000 of them? :)

Believe me. even mr. coorporate loves a free t-shirt.
And the entire point of this thing is to make so many of them, they will feel embarassed to NOT have theirs on.

I think RED t-shirts are ideal. White has been done, and we already started the RED theme with the Red Rowdies.

    RED Shirts
    RED Towels
    A Sea of Screaming RED.

When you think about it, no one that we will face in the playoffs wears RED.
This is OUR color and this is what we should scream.
Personally I think it would look awesome on TV.
If all goes well after this all Houston Rockets Fans may be known as The RED ROWDIES!!!

Hey, any of you remember that annoying Jazz Fan (the bald white dude) at all the rockets/jazz games in that series where we lost on Stockton's buzzer shot!!! He was loud and obnoxous...if you were at any of the games, you know who I'm talking about....they kept showing him on the jumbtron and he was such a spectacle... The SOB better not be back for this series.....I rmember after we lost and got knocked out, he was about to get his a$$ kicked after the game....

Having everyone wear red during the playoffs is a very good idea.

    This must happen.

Some great ideas in this thread.

I think the best way to get rid of the boring people is to be as loud and noisy as possible. That's probably what's worked over the season. Loud and noisy people does two things:

    1) Makes less and less boring people want to the game because it will get to a point where they'd rather watch it at home.

    2) Get the people wholove cheering hard to want to go to more games, pay more for seats or maybe if they haven't been attending a while, just joining that kind of crowd would bring them.

If you TELL everyone to wear red, I'm pretty sure almost everyone will ANYWAY. Which means, at the beginning of the game, you get the power dancers, players, coaches, EVERYONE to throw red shirts only at the parts of the crowd that aren't red enough. This way, I'm pretty sure you can make a smaller and more reasonable number of shirts.

you'd probably only need them for the lower bowl.....so less than 18000. more reason to do it

lol. I also remember the atmosphere during the Miami's first game this season. All the fans were in white and crazy during the opening ceremonies and the Bulls buried them by 40. Classic.

first off, if haven't been to a playoff game, its a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ATMOSPHERE. Its like night and day. The crowd is actually pumped throughout the whole game. Ive been to the 2004 Lakers/Rockets Game 3/4 and 2005 Mavs/Rockets Game 4. I admit, its nothing like the Rowdies, nobody compares to them, but its crazy, literally, I don't see it being a problem to pack the place at all. IT WILL be sold out, thats what the fair weather fans in Houston want, a Playoff game to go to.

The sad part, is that most people that go to the playoff games, don't know squat about the team or basketball in general, most are there because its the "hot" ticket to go to.

I have to agree with Dave on this one. The playoff crowd is just a different breed. I went to all the games against Dallas that year and it was just crazy the whole game. Everyone cheers and was loud through the entire game on ever shot.

I definitley like the ideo of wearing all red. I would love to see that happen..hell I'm gonna be wearing something red, whether it's a jersey or shirt. Just hope the rest of the fants do it. Or at least the organization does it.

Ic ouldnt agree with you more. I have been fortunate enough to go some playoff games and it is a different ballgame. I went to every home playoff game against Dallas is 2005 and it was crazy. Game six was one of the best sports experiences I ever had.

Even though I'm not in Houston I will do my part by wearing red when I'm watching the games! :D

Quick question about the Rox colors.

Are the Rockets' colors red and white? On the road uniforms it looks like the trim isn't white but a silvery grey and I bought a Rox golf shirt this year that was red but the logo was in the silvery grey instead of white.
