I despise the Republican party but I fear the power Democrats will wield while every minority in America votes only to commiserate with themselves.

 

Which doesn't excuse it.

Our government should have better things to focus on but I'll be damned if our elected officials can't find some divisive issue to waste time on.

Still, the Republicans continue to shoot themselves in the foot. A thread/article title as easily sensationalized as this one will only continue to hurt them.

 

Not so sure about that whole 'push to end the civil rights act' part, but if anyone repeals freedom of religion it'll be a certain other party. Or maybe it won't be... I can't depend on congress to think rationally anymore.

 

I didn't say citizen. I just said legally. I think a working visa would qualify. I just don't like the idea of someone sneaking into the country and having a kid, and the kid being an automatic citizen.

They only hold 30 rounds of ammo and are in accurate as hell so they cannot do what you earlier described but for 500 bucks who cares!

 

So what's the downside of limiting citizenship to the children of Americans? Fewer illegal aliens will sneak into the country to have their children knowing they won't gain automatic citizenship. Hospital resources and tax payer funds won't be spent on children of illegals that don't have medical insurance. School systems won't have as many young children of illegals, less need for bilingual education funding in southwestern states as a result. What are the real effects of a change rather than the looney hyperbole and rhetoric?

an AK is VERY effective up 200 yards. I'm actually pro-gun, but only for responsible/mentally stable/non-criminal owners.

 

All those children create hospital jobs; think about the maternity wards. Think about all the baby clothes and food and diapers and vaccinations that companies won't be able to sell.

also they suck at 200 yards unless you are trying to shoot a bus. Accuracy, not so much.

I don't believe the Republicans are shooting themselves in the foot too bad. They stand a real good chance of taking back the House and maybe the Senate. The Democrats have alienated way too many people on several key issues. I believe a majority of people in this country want to send a message to the President and keep him in check. This country seems to do better when control is split and both sides have to work together to do anything. That is why we prospered under Clinton. The country stays closer to the center. Unfortunately gridlock is the key to true bi-partisanship.

 

I bet if you put an add on Craigslist you'd get quite a few sellers. Try eBay too.

Either way, I'm sure you'd be able to take a lot of people out - if range is a problem, just go to a place where you can get up close. Maybe you can walk into a slum with lots of illegal immigrants and show them whose boss!

 

At one point they were in stock and I'm sure you can find one if you look hard enough. I'm not going to look, but google centerfire, southern ohio or j&g. They have sales from time to time on AK-47.

As for accuracy, it's up to the shooter, not the gun, if you can't hit a human target at 200 yards. This guy put 6, possibly 7, out of 10 'one shot stops' at that range.

It's a common misconception, probably from COD gamers, that AK-47s useless at that range. Not to mention most confrontations are around 75-150 yards. Of course, the AR has 3X the effective range of the AK.

As for not being just an AK-47 copy, now you're just being nip-picky. It's what 500 bucks can get you.

I will bet you 50 bucks you cannot hit 7 out of 10 on a silhouette at 200 yards. If you do you get 50 bucks and the range fees.

Ar15's have an effective range of about about 200 yards, after that the terminal ballistics won't kill a man sized target. 600 yards would be throwing rocks for a 5.56 NATO.

Let me try to weave the two threads together, if you take the majority's interpretion of the phrase "the people" in the 2nd Amendment in Heller, courtesy, and longstanding precedent regarding the rights of "the people" in the 5th amendment, it's pretty clear that illegal aliens have an individual right to bear arms.
