I'm not down with the whole "listen man, that failed assassination attempt just shows how much the the system works!" logic.

    they’re all fake Christians

they threw away their morals and principles long ago...tbh, they never had any to begin with

Mark 8:36 - For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Agreed. They all sold their souls for power, money and greed a long time ago.

I have yet to meet an evangelical who was in it for the right reason (to be Christlike in their dealings with others). They’re usually in it for the community and they’re fake.

Right... just shows his partisanship. Instead of blaming the people trying to subvert Democracy, he goes after the people who express concern about subverting democracy. Nobody should take him seriously at this point.

Evangelical churches absolutely are more of a high society social club then they are anything to do with religion. I know because I grew up going to them 3 times a week. It’s about power and influence of their identity and status.

Catholic Church (what I attend now if I attend because of my wife) is different however. There is a community within each Diocese usually involving the school parents but it’s nothing like the social setting of an evangelical or baptist church. Catholic school communities legit are communities that have views about abortion as the core issue but overall can be very real and good people. They would be Democrats if not for that one issue.

The Catholic Church has a whole slew of horrible issues but I do think at the very top there is major concern that religion and Christianity is failing across the globe and it’s up to Catholicism to be the only one that can withstand the change coming when people finally start calling out the US evangelical right for what they are... which is a high society political cult.

SCOTUS, like Gore v Bush, will not decide on cases that have no substantial impact on the result of the election.

They're going to go big or not go at all. Like Gore v Bush, they'll also use the rationale of Constitutional Crisis in order to legitimize whatever toilet paper decision to decide for an unpopular president.

Maybe they'll explicitly write that the decision should not be set as a precedent... Again

Regardless of what happens, it's clear the GOP and not just Trump is assaulting democracy.

This was restated again as recently a the USSC cases regarding stopping accepting votes that came in after Nov. 3rd in WI. In the PA case though they also said that they didn't want to intervene this close to the election and are, for now allowing PA to count votes received after Nov 3rd for 3 days even though the state legislature said they didn't authorize. The USSC also let stand NC counting votes received after Nov. 3rd for 9 days. In that case the state legislature is also saying they didn't authorize this but an panel handling elections instituted that law and the NC state supreme court supported it.

This case though is different as it isn't about votes coming in after Nov. 3rd but votes that have already been cast and received by the state. It's not blocking potential future votes but actual votes.

    Wiki on the judge:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Hanen

Basically was appointed by G.W. Bush and has a history of voting across party lines and being anti-Obama with ACA and DACA in particular.

    Article on this story.
