It's not that it is different, it's the way you present it. Wait a second... You got me! Trolling really does work.
is bobmarley/pigmiller/baylorbare etc arguing with himself or is this a real shapeshifter on shapeshifter THROWDOWN ? More importantly - Does anybody care?
I agree with this sentiment. Real change is not won in the voting booths but in the streets with blood, sweat & tears.
I was being serious. You want to know why Hispanic issues are in the forefront in America. Because they are making more and more voters each day. In 10-20 years, look out. They are changing the political landscape in America.
This is probably the best post I've ever seen on this board. So true. At one time, even 40 years ago, people protested. Remember the vietnam war? Now if you protest, like occupy wall street, you get arrested. This is something that Putin would do, but it's happening right here.
If a bunch of disorganized students ( who, contrary to the romantic history of revolutions are among the WORST social groups to lead revolutions) sitting around in parks represent the next wave of change, then please count me out.
I'm talking about OWS. Oh, don't worry. There will always be "Fight the Power" young ones like you who think you're radical or whatever and think that a bunch of students chanting in the streets for two hours will destroy/reform a society which has lasted for over 200 years. Just like the idiot student radicals in Imperial Russia, who couldn't accomplish in forty years of agitation what the workers did in six months. I'll be out doing real work and reform.
When you vote it forces the politicians to listen to you. You have a choice beyond democrat or republican for many elections. Use it.
The real work? The work your doing to promote your party of choice? This is not reform, this is maintaining the status quo.
......sigh. I don't know why I'm bothering, it's a slow day today. But I'll go ahead and start from the beginning. Why don't we start with you, Nextup? You clearly desire "reform" of some kind. I would guess that you are essentially a socialist/populist of some sort ( though I have never met a socialist who seemed to be opposed to gay marriage reform, I'll note). Now, I will also assume ( though I really have no grounds to believe so) that you are actually willing to help carry out those reforms as opposed to just grousing about "The System" on a basketball message board. If you're not, then to put it bluntly, your opinion holds utterly no relevance anyways and I'm probably just going to dump you on ignore. Now, without groups, without factions, without political parties or working with others, how the flying heck do you actually intend to reform anything?
