Ron Paul does not propose going to the gold standard (or silver) he proposes allowing gold and silver coinage to be used as legal tender and be used along with federal reserve notes.

EDIT- will have to post the link to this info

I have to say that after finding out more aobut Huckabee, I've changed my mind. I don't know what Novak was trying to do with that bolumn, but it actually made me want to vote for Huckabee more :D

I COMPLETELY agree with him on global warming.

and major, I am a social conservative and somewhat fiscal liberal ;)

By the way, where's the love for Tancredo and Hunter... neither one has a single vote in this poll.

Is there something in the Arkansas water? If Huckabee can come out of nowhere like Billy C 16 years ago, one part of my equation is solved. Now, if only Billy R, will strut his stuff and quit campaigning for V.P., we will have a race where the American people can't lose.

Huckabee is impressive. The most polished by far.

And Romney believes in every word of the bible. Or the word of god, whichever comes first.

CNN, the Clinton News Network strikes again... the gay veteran that CNN hand picked to try to embarrass the candidates was a former Hillary Clinton staffer.

How can anyone take CNN seriously? How can anyone not acknowledge how biased they are? This is truly unbelievable.

Anderson Cooper, at the VERY end of the 1-hour debate recap program.

Said what? I was watching the Rockets beat the ****in' Suns, praise the Lord or the diety of your choice. And if you don't have one, buy it! The GOP has been doing that for years.

Yeah, sort of like how they are so biased that they would reject 5000 other videos from regular people and post one by that paragon of bipartisanship Grover Norquist.

Anyway, it's amusing and telling that the only thing TraderTexxx can complain about is CNN bias. I would love to hear their nuanced analysis of the deer in the headlights candidates.

Huckabee wiped the floor with all of them

There were apparently 3 or 4 planted questions last night from Clinton, Edwards, and Obama supporters.

That being said, I actually liked the question the Clinton plant asked the candidates and think it's perfectly valid. For the Dems too, since a lot of them are out there promoting gay marriage, yet still support "don't ask, don't tell".

I watched the replay of it after the Rockets game. I liked the format for the Democrat debate, even better for the Republican Debate. CNN certainly picked better questions for the Rebulican debate, because it seemed that they were more willing to be confrontational. I thought Anderson Cooper was a great moderator, too. I couldn't care less whether Hillary's aide planted a question. It needed to be answered.

As far as judging it, as crazy as it seems, I thought McCain won. Other than getting owned badly by Ron Paul on the history of interventionism, McCain made his points well and did especially well head-to-head against Romney on torture. He didn't win huge, though, Huckabee and Paul both did pretty well.

But there was certainly a clear loser: Rudy Giuliani. He was constantly being called on to defend stances and votes that he took, and he waffled more than John Kerry and Hillary Clinton combined.

I personally thought Romney was the clear loser - Rudy smacked him down on the immigration issue, Huckabee smacked him down on the scholarship issue, and Cooper made him look weak when he wouldn't give a straight answer (lol) on the don't ask don't tell question.

McCain and Huckabee handled themselves well, and while I wouldn't vote for them based on policy, I still have a lot of respect for them and wouldn't feel too bad if they won the presidency.
