He is a Mormon candidate running in a state with a evangelical Christian base, what did you expect. Though I do agree if he doesn't do well in NH, he is in bad shape.
Like a lot of people, I expected him to win Iowa. Blame it on his religion if you like, but that excuse won't fly if he loses in NH, which is a huge demographic contrast to Iowa. The more I think about it, the more I think it's possible McCain will win the GOP nod. If Obama wins NH and SC, the Republicans will panic over being splintered while the Dems are unified. The GOP will then decree it's either McCain and Rudy and they will probably settle on McCain. Both nominees will be determined no later than Super Tuesday, if not before.
Via Josh – Rudy Giuliani, speaking about his sixth place finish in Iowa yesterday: As a GOP operative I know loves to say, the man has "9/11 Tourettes." Can't help himself.
Richard Vigurie, GOP Direct Mail guru, representing the Repub establishment: McCain's the only viable choice for the anti-Huck crowd.
republican debate in florida tonight. down to the 5 major players... i'm curious of huckabee or rudy drop out first?
Rudy's broke, and he has very little support. He's gone after Florida. Huck and McCain have the same dilemma: they have have boatloads of supporters willing to vote, but few who are excited enough about their campaign to donate. Since neither are independently wealthy, it'll be a struggle to stay in.
my thoughts of the candidates dropping out are in this order rudy huckabee ron paul mccain money wins out and romney gets the nomination. though that isn't always the case, and if rudy or huck drop out and endorse mccain it will drastically help him.
Ron Paul isn't dropping out unless someone can get 51% of the delegates. He's already said that he'll go all the way to the convention if necessary, and he's got the money to allow that.
