In the case of Ben Carson, he comes across as a truly genuine person. I think everything he says is his honest opinion. Doesn't seem as deceitful or politically skilled as guys like Ted Cruz. Not sure which is scarier. LOL
At the rate he's going with his particular brand of complete-bats***-crazy nuttery, he will not make it into the presidential cycle.
This proves what I've always suspected about Rubio: He just isn't very bright and has no chance of mounting a legitimate campaign for the GOP nomination. He's not even VP material.
My wife went to nursing school at John Hopkins and has met him. She says he is incredibly charismatic in person.
My significant other has met Cruz and has heard him speak to an audience. She says that he's surprisingly effective in that setting, being quite charismatic himself. That it doesn't come across on TV at all. Of course, she also thinks he's a loon.

In 1989 I got to see The Who from the 4th row. It was a pretty awesome show. I haven't seen The Who since and have no interest last hurrah. Considering this is about the 5th or 6th last hurrah that they've had.
I have met Cruz and his family, and they are very nice people actually. At first glance, I think Cruz's courage and willingness to stand on conviction are admirable. But he lacks common sense in the realm of politics - constantly undermining GOP leadership and taking swipes at liberals won't get anything done.
