You're using your head to think. Stop that. Use your heart. Their heart told them it was a the right song so it was the right song. And they didn't steal it, they were honoring it. Screw evil corporations with too much money.

I was thinking that they probably weren't pleased about it.

at the time i posted, he was saying that fiscal responsibility was one of "our values." meaning the party's value....that's why i and others posted almost right on top of each other about that.

you're right...later in the speech he acknowledged the party had gotten away from that. i'm glad he did.

But his plans indicate he isn't going to change that any time soon...

Unlike 2004, where there were 2 morons, this year there are 2 great candidates running but McCain is just so blah and old. As much as he claims to be this "mavrick" ;) his campaign is following similar strategies Bush used, mainly the fear factor (was there a need to show that 9/11 video?). Whoever wins, it will be historical: First African American or first female VP.

Realistically, does the president directly impact our daily lives that much unless you're a millitary family? Maybe I am just blessed, am lucky to have an education and good job and am secure on a daily basis that I don't really care about politics. Truthfully people should place more importance on local and state government because those really impact your day to day functions.

In the end politics won't solve any of these problems facing America and the world. Politicians have been making promises since the begining of time, and every election is the "most crucial election" of our history yet we're still bogged down with all the social ills that are only getting worse.

They have screwed up so badly all they have is fear........

I mean they want smaller government with less taxes, but over the last 8 years the Republicans have increased the size of government and national debt more than any party in US history.

They are the ones that went off course......no one believes them now when they run around saying "THE SKY IS FALLING...THE SKY IS FALLING"....because they flat out lied......and screwed it up.

It is going to take an all new generation of republicans to come in and get rid of this one, as they are all going to be roped into the corruption and lies that have gone on in the last decade, fairly or not.

Palin has a chance to come out of this ok...and lead the party forward, but McCain and Guiliani, and the rest, are toast.

Yeah, playing the song at the Republican convention totally tarnishes the legacy and artistic integrity of these great legends of rock. It would almost be as damaging as allowing Fergie to cover the song...oh wait.

    :p I kid.

Agreed. That showed incredibly poor taste and was insulting.

Go ahead and keep trying to minimize the most important foreign policy even of the last 25+ years. Keep acting like it didn't happen -- great strategy. Just because your party doesn't have a credible way of dealing with terror does not mean it's not an issue. You know who the terrorists would prefer to have in office. Obama's got all of their key endorsements...

I'm not going to lie and say that I did but I figured they would throw it in there somehow for good measure. Why don't you describe it for us. :)

And if terrorists would have struck again in within our borders everyone would be on them for not being able to protect our country.

I don't doubt that but they keep acting like if we don't pick them suddenly we're sooooooooooooooooooooo much more vulnerable.
