Yes there is going to vp debates, its going to be awesome television. I'd imagine that Obama is gonna tear mccain up pretty bad himself at the presidential debates.

Yeah, but that won't keep McCain from spending $10 Billion a month there indefinitely.

4 years later: "Seriously guys, we're really close to winning this "war". Don't surrender to the terrorists now."

these guys still havent mentioned anything about afghanistan or pakistan like obama has. i realize Iraq is the biggest issue, but the republicans have NO CLUE how to handle our national security.

She did what she was supposed to do; you have to give her credit for a great delivery, and hitting on all the buttons the audience in front of her wants to hear.

I agree it was light on any actual substance, but I'm not sure I expected that from Palin anyway. That's what I want to hear from McCain.

Palin's role was just to cheerlead and throw out some attacks. She was supposed to work her audience - who after this last week, wanted desperately to have something to scream about - into a frenzy, and on that she was successful.

There's no denying that she looked poised and in control. Considering what's been happening lately that at least goes a long way.

Rudy's, however, was crap. He was put out there for nothing more than dumb attack mode, and it was disgusting. I am glad his bid for President never went further than it did.

Good post and I agree on all fronts. Especially on Giuliani. He's one Republican I really can't stand. Everything from what he stands for to who he is to how he talks. The guy just irks me.

The speech is being universally praised on every news station I've seen.

I'll agree with some of the commentary that she is a rising star in politics...she comes off as a confident, down-home type of person...a fresh face. And I also agree with another comment that for the first time tonight gender was not made an issue. She didn't speak as woman trying to win over the woman vote, but just as a woman and a governor and a political leader.

But I still am nowhere convinced that she's capable of being VP or possibly leading this country. And at no point tonight, in her speech or any others, did I hear any legitimate talk about the real issues.

And I do think the praise for the speech (she delivered it well) misses the rampant hypocrisy found within it.

I think her speech wasn't all that bad as you guys are making it out to be. It was PLAIN good.

I don't think she answered the questions of those that wanted to know more about her opinion on different policies(foreign.economic); she spent too long telling her story about her life (also she was a little too comedic, as if she didn’t understand the importance of her role). When she did start talking about things of substance she immediately went on a tangent about how funny Obama’s experience is as a community worker + McCain’s personal experience as a POW. She really tried to push herself onto those Hilary voters...for that I give her a B+. She did what was needed of her. Though the speech just didn't cover enough bases.

Giuliani’s speech was horrid, the guy was very disrespectful, the way he said that Obama was a “community worker” was way out of line; I was shocked the way he said that.

IT was great when she told us that her husband Todd was a champion snowmobiler. Absolutely brilliant.

Apparently according to the GOP doing something good for a community is something to be mocked.

The beginning was slow, but she had to go through and introduce her family.......so to criticize that is pretty miniscual (sp?) in my book.
