    I wonder what % of time incumbents win? 70%? 80%? 90+%?

How does that look when all districts need to be as equal as possible in population within that state?

All of it is equally nonsensical. 1 man 1 vote, state or nation.

Exactly. Definitely need a federal ban on it. One of the few issues with bipartisan support amounts the people.

Right... so why aren't you calling up your Republican rep you voted for and demanding he pass legislation that bans partisan gerrymandering???

Oh yeah that's right... because if a Democrat puts up the bill it's pure evil right?

Also Texas is a much much more consequential state when it comes to gerrymandering. It shifts the balance of power in this country in epic proportions.

Basically only ONE GROUP gets more representation than their population demands
    and
    Everyone else gets less

So are you saying you are in favor of republicans continuing to draw maps designed to keep minorities out of political power?

Aggh, the joys of unthinking contentment conservative wealthy controlled status quo. Incumbents raise big bucks by pleasing their wealthy funders, almost without restrictions sanctified by their folks on the S Ct . 90% of the time the candidate with the most money wins.

The wealthy elite are content and Trumpers rich or lower middle class are happy. Billionaires engage in space tourism and the country goes down the tubes unable to repair bridges or keep up with other advance countries wrt to education, life span etc.

Lol. wouldn't that just further Virginia as a blue state? And how much more population growth would that give WV? clearly not enough for more than 1 or 2 congressional House seats at the most if any.

Also I think Congress would surely entertain it if it's also passed at the same time as DC and Puerto Rico are given statehood. Why don't you call Ted Cruz's office and tell him you are ready for them to make a deal on re-arranging statehood, and to get a deal done?

Lastly - It's so hilarious how right wingers continue to believe this fantasy that there is some sort of machination they can contrive that'll allow them to turn back time to the 1950's or 1860 or whenever in some right wing cocoon where they can have an all white conservative Christian gas guzzling utopia. They just cannot face the fact that the world has changed due to travel & globalization. There is virtually nowhere in the world that you'll be able to shield yourself from it.

Even West Virginia at some point will be exposed to the changes that are happening globally. You can try to live in your bubble a little while longer if you want to, but don't force your bubble fantasy on everyone else by punishing everyone else with your bizarre utopia right wing fantasy world.
