Carson's candidacy will collapse immediately after Iowa, maybe sooner if he crumbles under the pressure. My bet is on sooner.

He's trying hard with the common sense beats self declared experts. But he's lacking in common sense. Ima's right though. He's this cycle's Gringrich/Bachman/Cain/Santorum candidate and will be voted off the island soon enough.
This West Point thing will likely sink Carson. I expect his poll numbers to drop quite a bit very soon. Crazies and nutjobs aside, most people do not like being lied to. It was obvious from day 1 that Carson is in WAY over his head running for POTUS. He never had a chance to begin with, likewise for Trump. I don't think the US is truly ready to elect an "outsider". The next President will be an establishment candidate.
Carson wrote in 1996 book “Gifted Hands” that he turned down a full scholarship to West Point There are no "full scholarships" to west point. If accepted the government picks up the tab for everyone.
The Politico article says Carson fabricated that he applied to West Point. But Carson never said he applied to West Point. Politico is engaging in fabrication in it's own article alleging fabrication. If Westmoreland and other generals said they could get him accepted into West Point, and Carson mistook that for a scholarship (when as you say, there are no scholarships), who cares? I say this as someone who has Carson far down on my list of preferred nominees.
