I think I’m the “bullied” poster. I wouldn’t worry about me. I read CF about 10 times a day for years now. It’s true that my posts are often times limited to situations where someone says something that is intergalactically stupid. This thread is in a special club.

Serious question, are players contractually obligated to play in all star games? I know some contracts give them a bonus if they make the team, but not sure if they are contractually obligated to play in asg

Last year's all star game was not only the best all star game I've ever watched, but it actually was surprisingly one of the best games I've watched... period.

I haven't watched the ASG for about 20 years. Just let the players and everyone take a break.

BTW, "spend time with family" has become the most meaningless excuse for wanting to quit. Thanks Morey.

I’m with the players on this one. Holding an all-star game makes no sense. At least keep out all the media and fans if they’re doing it, for safety.

True, but I don’t think Morey invented that.

When I was young the ASG meant something.

Nowadays I dont even bother watching. Tbh Id rather my stars just rest for a week than go an ASW.

The Katrina game where Kobe and Tmac traded long bomb threes was more entertaining than any ASG. I’m split on this though. The game is for the fans and important to the second tier stars vying for recognition. Once again, like early in the pandemic and the Orlando bubble, the established stars are taking it for granted. Do players still get the bonuses stipulated in their contracts for making the game if it doesn’t happen?

I also agree though that w all the nba contract tracing stupidity (the kd stuff was stupid) and protocols it’s a lot for meaningless game that isn’t all that entertaining to begin with.

I’d like to see an all star game that happens after the playoffs. Could make it more competitive or it could have the complete opposite effect and end up like the pro bowl.

regardless the nba all star weekend and game is lame

One more thought on the ASG
DWIGHT DID NOT DUNK THE BALL
He threw it in. That’s not a dunk.

    Much better “all star game”

wonder if this would make it better:
Players are real into charity and social causes and being vocal about it.
Each team donate a million to a pot.
ASG team winners get to distribute 30 mil of charity if they win.
Some of these guys are pretty passionate about their charity work and it could motivate them.

Didn’t they change the rules last year to where the score resets at quarters or something? Dumb. It’s just a layup line.

    So it was not sarcasm.

    Got it.

So the contract is more important than continuing the season with the most players playing in games?

Great idea to get all the stars in one place when teams have been dealing with short roster all season because of safety protocol.

They should make the owners play, and let the players reap the rewards.

Eh, I dunno. You watch nearly a half million fellow citizens, you know, die, and have normal life completely interrupted, and spending time with family does become pretty damned important. Just my two cents. I think some of the players really mean it in this case, but who knows. Maury certainly didn't mean it, LOL.
