That's why i half expect him to end up in miami, playing 10-15 mins a game to rest wade and lebron his body could hold up to, and his talent level for those minutes would also be.

Roy doesn't fit with those guys. The Heat will spend their money on a starting C and PG.

I seriously question how much Roy has left after watching him last year. Although he had a couple of shining moments, for the most part he was a non-factor. It's a logical move for Portland to cut him and I would not pay him more than the LLE money if I were to pick him up.

I have a problem with that. Eoy at 70% is better than a random NBA player I would say and I just can't see the Blazers releasing him before they see what he has left.

I understand his contract is awful for his contribution, but hell, they will only have 7 players under contracts and cutting Roy will only allow them to sign a mid-level player.

And as for Roy, he sure sucked last year but it is understandable. It takes time to adjust to being hurt. He needed to change his style, habbits and I belive he would be much better/healthlier this year.

I agree that Roy at 70% of his peak abilities would be a very good NBA player. However, Roy is NEVER going to be at 70% of what he used to be again. His injuries are not the type that will heal as he basically has no meniscus left in his knees. The current Roy is an average NBA player at best and no more than that. Portland fans are actually quiate relieved that they can get rid of his contract if you read some of their boards.

The amnesty cuts will be put on waiver like the NFL does it, so he wont slip to the heat, but clippers could use him off the bench and we could to. If we sign a amnesty guy how soon can he be traded?

the heat's issues aren't when lebron and wade are on the court, even with chumps at pg and c, it's when they're not.

And an amnestied roy probably isn;t going to care much between say $2-3m in miami or even la, compared to $5m elsewhere, whilst he's being paid $20m by portland.

Roy should come to Houston. We have a good history of our trainers and team doctors fixing injured players in regaining their career.

but its not his choice, as long as teams offer him deals he cant just sign with miami, dallas, lakers or anything. they start with the worst team, they make offers, the next team up can beat that offer or he signs with that team. therefore someone will sign him before the better teams get a chance.

    No.

The Heat lost in the Finals when LeBron and Wade were both on the floor with chumps at PG and C. Have you forgotten how incredibly bad Joel Anthony and Mike Bibby were? They still lost even with Bosh playing well.

More than anything else, the Heat need an upgrade at C. After that, PG. IMO, it isn't debatable.

A couple of zone-busting shooters wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Pretty sad when a team with 3/4 of the best players in an NBA Finals series (two of which, are top three players), are bested by a freaking zone defense.

    But I digress.

Agreed 100% that Roy wouldn't fit with this team. Seeing him land in Chicago, on the other hand, would be quite intriguing.

They need a reliable defending, 3-point shooting PG. Chalmers could fit the bill but he isn't reliable or consistent.

I think Mike Miller is worth another try as a backup swingman. That fact he is smart, can rebound, handle and bust zones makes him a great fit off the bench. Last year was a fluke.

So sure by now you've heard bombshell dropped at Blazers presser: Brandon Roy will be in camp and McMillan will consider starting him

    jwquick Jason Quick
Blazers won't go as far as to say they won't amnesty Roy, but there was clearly a change of heart during the 90 minute meeting today
