It was public information, somehow or another. The GM at the station implied that. He then said from now on maybe they will have to keep their locations secret. Just awful.

^ This. The tide may eventually turn, but it won't be because of the senselessness of these tragedies. It will be because older people get older and die, and the younger generations, who recognize the flaws of the older system when applied to the modern era, will get older, vote more, etc. It'd be great if just all of a sudden everyone agreed for serious change with regard to gun laws... but that clearly won't happen. Again, not to diminish this tragedy, but we had a guy go into an elementary school and start killing 5, 6 and 7 year olds for no reason. And NOTHING happened.

Nope. people talk about gun violence legislation all the time. Also plenty of gun violence bills have been presented (and sometimes passed) on a local, state, and national level. What you are talking about is getting the laws passed you want. Not 'having a conversation'.
exactly, i agree with you in this case, it was not a shooting spree. not discounting the mental illness but its silly to dismiss guns altogether like it plays zero role in the problem. there are humans all over the world and im not sure if this is as common everywhere else. is america just more ill-equipped dealing with mental illness, than other countries? are americans just more crazy than everybody else?

why even have a congress? we could just pass legislation off polling for everything............ Personally, I think gun legislation should be done on a local or state level not national.
too much $$$ involved. the US is the largest exporter of firearms globally and the domestic market keeps on growing.
