No seriously. Just like Trump, you tend to get personal and condescending when someone challenges your point of view. Instead of engaging in polite discourse, you launch personal attacks or declare others to be below your level in intelligence and therefore, unworthy of conversing with you. Just like Trump. And, like the Donald, you continually adopt simplistic and superficial positions on complex issues and when pressed for specifics, you deflect/ignore/insult/avoid the discussion at hand. This is especially noticeable from your numerous postings on racial issues - you sound like someone who has absorbed the Tea Party/Fox News/Rush Limbaugh playbook which seeks to demonize/scapegoat/stereotype those citizens who don't conform to "their" idea of an American (which just so happens to include all minorities and non-heterosexuals). Just like Trump. Honestly, you are channeling more and more of Trump with each new posting. It's kinda fascinating to watch as it unfolds.
In this particular case, we can only guess. He wanted the world to know. If he had no access to gun, he would probably need to figure out a way to attack 2-3 persons. Maybe he would take some lessons to be more effective. Maybe he figure out it can't be done against 2-3 people and waited for just 1 or 2. Maybe he figure it's too difficult to execute and decided against it. Maybe he go ahead with it, but is less effective. I have said that I don't think the US is unique in violence or crimes. Just human nature. Economic is probably a much better indicator of violence or crimes. Crimes will happen. Crimes will happen with or without guns, there is no questions about that. There should also be little questions about how deadly crimes would be with and without guns. There is nothing hardcore anti-gun about common sense restrictions. There is nothing hardcore anti-gun about making gun more safe. There is nothing hardcore anti-gun about making it more difficult for criminals to get guns. Theses are sensible common sense thinking. When one side uses the constitution incorrectly, and/or as an excuse, to be against any and all gun control/restrictions/even safety, that's a hardcore radical attachment to a tool, one that's very effective at its function to kill. That's not sensible common sense thinking. That's quite paranoia behavior. There isn't a one bullet solution to the violence issue. Tackling the crimes side and ignoring the tools used by criminals, one that is deadly effective, is quite silly when, in fact, one side is handicapping the ability to even tackle the crimes side. Universal background check - nope. Pysch eval - nope. Fund for mental helps - nope. New technology to lock gun to particular user - nope. And so on.
I think a gun gives cowards a false sense of power and confidence to kill somebody. The fact that it makes it much easier to kill someone and then kill yourself plays a huge factor. For example, its hard to "take the easy way out" without a gun.
all this gun banning talk is STUPID. whos to say if guns were banned he couldnt get one anyway. Spoiler and dont bring up that stupid comment about how an AK47 is $43k in australia now that guns are banned there
YEEHAAWWWWW I'm with you! You guys better spoiler any knowledge because screw that mess the only thing I accept in my brain is stuff I agree with and forwarded emails! It's my brain and you can't do nothin!
Toss you out the window and the intelligence of this conversation goes up considerably. Amirite? I support gun ownership. I own guns. My father owned guns. His father owned guns. One of my ancestors came to Texas because he allegedly killed someone in a duel over a woman. Having said that, I'll add this. Those tens of thousands of Americans sucking from the teats of the NRA are fooling themselves if they believe that they are helping to preserve gun ownership or lowering the rate of gun violence in this country. What they are in fact doing is insuring that eventually the people of this country will throw up their hands and say, "Enough!" We will see far harsher laws restricting gun ownership in the future simply because you people preach no compromise. Your arguments are absurd. An example from the "no compromise/hail the NRA!" crowd is the reaction to Barack Obama being elected president. I heard countless comments preaching gloom and doom. "Obama's going the take away our guns! We're going to be conquered by Mexico! Obama is plotting to take over Texas!" (that last absurdity was supported by our current governor) The result of Obama becoming president? In his near two terms in office, not only has nothing happened to restrict gun ownership, if anything, it has become easier to purchase and carry them. Some of you need to read more and fill up that space between your ears, with all due respect.
Very well put. "You must spread some reputation around before giving it to txtony again." What really flabbergast me is that we cannot get agreement that those who have a history of mental illness and violence shouldn't be allowed to legally purchase firearms.
Murder is also banned, but he did it anyway. I guess we should just make it legal. People are going to do it anyway.
To move some of this debate off of this thread to the D&D am discussing the Australia gun ban and other gun control issues here. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?p=9984735#post9984735
Which "common sense" gun control law would have prevented this guy from buying a gun? Outside of banning all guns I'm going with none. Including a month long waiting period.
How about some security around these reporters? It's seems that any doofus can just run up and troll interviews.
I think we can bet that there will be security around reporters from here on out, especially those reporting live.
Here's one. Make gun ownership restricted to those employed by, or enlisted in, a military or para-military force.
Work towards and vote for politicians who advocate that. Don't try the nonsense laws that won't do anything. Spoiler
Another option is to tax the **** out of gun ownership. Use the money to cover the cost of all gun related violence costs. You want a semi automatic? Alright there is a tax in the amount of $500 a year for every year you are registered and own it. Why so high? Well the associated costs on society from a semi automatic is very high.
