I don't think it's outrageous at all. He probably does love her at some level and I imagine he is carrying a ton of guilt around. Add that to his damaged public image and the possibility that she could tarnish his reputation even further with a public divorce battle, revelations of other affairs, possibly HGH, etc. AND a custody battle? He probably felt like the best thing to do was just split the money and walk away in peace knowing his wife and children are taken care of, his secrets are kept and he can see his kids when he wants. Plus he might feel like he made some sort of atonement with this money.
I am sure it is paid out over time to ensure her silence...he will more than make that up he has 25+ years left on his career. And without her bringing up the uber dirt, he can reclaim his endorsements. If Kobe can do it, so can Tiger. DD

It's all about maturity - and clearly he wasn't ready to settle down. Star athletes mature (socially) on a much slower curve - they don't have to grow up when everything comes easy. People like you and me do have to grow up, quick, because if you can't be responsible and take care of your business by the age of 26, things are going to be bad. If you haven't gotten p***** hunting out of your system, you aren't ready to get married. Maybe that's 22 for some, maybe that's 45 for others. George Clooney is a smart man.
I don't even know if I could accept that much money knowing I didn't earn any of it. Sure, take enough to maintain the life style you're accustomed and a little extra just in case but to grab 3/4 of a billion and keep a straight face? That tells me something about her personality and it ain't good (unless she donates a huge chunk to charity or something). Still, Tiger screwed up and the law is the law. He's paying the price for his stupidity and selfishness but I highly doubt this woman is the picture of class herself.

From my European perspective, this amount of money doesn't sound so surprising when one compares this to the cases where some moron spills coffee on himself and is able to successfully sue for millions(maybe I remember the details wrong but you get the point). P.S. Tiger's swing is looking pretty good atm at The National. His putting has somehow abandoned him, though, so until he can finish the holes better, he will have pretty hard time making those millions. Of course, again the event is played on stupidly short course where the average ballstrikers who can putt can also succeed.
Because she had to have known the guy was a scum bag before she married him. I'm not saying what he did was right but I find it extremely hard to believe that this woman is so naive that she married a guy without seeing tendencies or evidence of what he truly was. IMO it's much more likely she knew she was in for a pay day one way or another so she jumped at the chance to marry him.

It's certainly possible that she might have guessed. But the "she had to have known" is a bit much. i think being way over critical. People hide things from their SO all the time. There have been plenty of perpetual cheaters who have kept their secret from their fives. But again, you're thinking that this is a "typical" marriage. It wasnt. Tiger traveled a lot for various events and she took care of the kids.
