Oh Mykawa!!! That is an insane amount of money for a divorce settlement. Does Tiger have a billion dollars in his bank? I know he's earned well over that amount but... damn !! I can't feel bad for the guy though.. did it to himself.
What a bunch of bull****. If anything the bulk of the money should go to his kids. I'm not saying she deserves nothing but this is really lame. If she got 10 million for herself (not including the kids) that would be plenty.
I doubt the veracity of the number. If Tiger makes $50 million a year that would be 15 years of his total income, virtually every nickel he would have made lifetime. Why would he agree to that? No Judge would agree to that.
Deserved or not the money is going to his kids one way or another. Whether it be now or in the future. Besides, I'm sure Tiger is cool with having the money go to his kids.

Tiger married her purely to help his brand. He wanted to play the role of happy families. I have no sympathy for him.
I will never understand why an institution that has around a 50% success rate overall(and much, much lower in the celeb circle) can possibly entitle a person to so much of what they didn't earn personally. If marriage was something that say only around 5% of the time ended in divorce I could see some legitimacy to it. I'm not saying she shouldn't get something out of it, but i think 7.5 million sounds more reasonable to me. If I were a betting man I'd say she remarries to another rich someone within 5 years.
The theory of equitable distribution of property in a divorce is BS in some cases. It's an illusory idea bringing feminist jurisprudence to light when in reality a lot of times the man is clearly the bread earner, the woman is not in any danger due to lack of support, and any money regardless of percentage is several times more than most people make in a year. Yes, Tiger screwed up. His ex-wife deserves money for whatever reason. But she doesn't need 50% of a billionaire-athlete's money. The ratio should be closer to 80% Tiger and 20% Elin, since the sum of money is so much larger than the per capita income and more than enough to live a comfortable life ($200 million is more money than most lotteries).
I guessed you don't know anything about lawyers. You always set for the highest and see what you can get.
