If I was Nash, and Memphis was willing, I'd go to Memphis.

Atlanta doesn't have a competent backup PG; Nash would probably play a lot of minutes, for the team to be competitive. Plus, I don't think Atlanta with Nash is on par with Miami and Chicago.

Nash to Memphis would allow them to compete with OKC and other upcoming WC teams, imo.

I'm just thinking out loud here, but I think Memphis may be the strongest team without an awesome PG that can also pay him the $10 mil / year that Nash's agent wants, but I could be wrong. Miami is in this line of thinking, but I don't think they'll be able to pay Nash what he wants.

But again, I'm no salary cap expert, so I could be wrong, and Memphis has no money to pay Nash.

Some people on this board think Memphis best player is their PG...

I would imagine Nash has alot of power in this decision. Does he want to get paid or does he want to take a paycut and basically pick who he wants to play for? Its going to be interesting to see where he lands imo.

Don't get me wrong - Conley is by no means a scrub.

But Phoenix already had success with a Nash / Gortat PnR game.

Regarding Memphis, this means that either Gasol or Randolph can come off the bench, since both big men are offensively skilled in the post.

    Imagine:

    Nash / Conley
    Allen / Mayo
    Gay / Arthur
    Speights / Randolph
    Gasol / Haddadi

The defense of the opponent has to worry about Nash and Gay and Gasol, while the people coming off that team's bench has to worry about Conley and Mayo and Randolph.

    So many weapons.

Memphis is way over the cap, and couldn't offer him more than the MLE.

I would do Gasol for nash and gortat. That is giving up a lot, but shoot for the moon.

Gortat's outside touch isn't on the level of Pao's, he'd be redundant to have in the same frontcourt as Bynum.

does Dallas have enough to get a deal done? Beaubois and picks + cash?
if they could squeeze in Gortat as part of the package it would make a lot of sense (maybe Phx bites on the "sweetner"?)

Trade the Gay away? Nuh uh.

Lowry for Nash & pick #13? Not if we can move up higher.

I mentioned ATL earlier for the "sending back" part of a SnT. Also I think there is a Rule that you cannot combine SnT contracts with other contracts, so Nash is the only one on the out unless there is a secondary trade made concurrently.

The Hawks can send back Smith to pair with Gortat. They need an athletic 4 and Gortat makes up for the post game that Smith isn't that strong with. This would also help the Suns make a hero's plea to Gogi to come take the reigns to sign and save the franchise that loved him, and give him the starting opportunity that he wants.

This move is bad for Houston. If we don't move Lowry come draft night, or don't resign Gogi and Nash signs elsewhere, I think we will be left with a disgruntled Lowry and 2 draft picks (guaranteed contracts) we couldn't move.

I dunno man. Mayo completely screwed up the Clips series. Conley was really solid.

A SnT implies salary matching, so theoretically, all teams could pull it off salary-wise.
