    canaan is a non-factor anyway. i don't think he's nba ready yet.

signing rudy fernandez would fix that issue and help with the lack of shooting on this team.

Rudy Fernandez is NOT a PG and is NOT coming back to the NBA.

Except they really can't offer him a larger contract than anyone else if he wants them to be a contender. In fact all the talk is about how they want him to take a paycut so they can afford more help, not get a raise.

There is something to that, but it's mainly the way that Lebron left more than leaving. Publicly humiliating your home town team on national TV, then throwing a parade and making claims of how many titles you were going to win before you even play a game together had a lot more to do with the backlash than just switching teams did. I suspect that the number of people who hate Lebron would probably remain roughly the same no matter what team he goes to at this point, especially if he announces his decision in a less controversial manner. There will be some Heat fans that become haters and some Rockets fans who drop their hate once he is on their team. His public image is a concern, but if he was over concerned about it he wouldn't have left the Cavs in the first place. I don't think that going back to the Cavs helps his image with anyone outside of Cavs fans. If you hate Lebron now, you probably aren't going to love him for any reason short of him coming to your team.

I was just thinking about that yesterday. It would never happen but that is one team that would dominate for sure... as long as they keep Gasol, Randolph, Allen, and Conley.

Sure they can offer a larger contract but yes, of course they want/need him to take a pay cut.

If I'm LeBron, why do I need to take a pay cut? I'm the best player in the game, I show up every night. I hold up my end of the bargain.

How about Dwyane "I need to rest 30 games a season" Wade or Chris "I show up every now and then" Bosh?

How about bench warmer Haslem getting paid nearly $5 mil? Or before they traded him, Joel Anthony, nearly making $4 mil.

    Me, LeBron James, pay cut?

If I'm Lebron, I'm seriously wondering what the Heat are allegedly going to do to improve going forward. Since he signed there, they haven't added any young promising players. Are they really going to get better by doing nothing but dumpster diving and praying for ring chasers to sign for below market deals?

Morey isn't perfect, but he has shown a knack for being able to find contributors.

The only way the Heat can realistically improve is for Wade and Bosh to opt out. I cannot see them doing anything else realistically. They can use the MLE next year, but that isn't enough.

We got a little bit of insight into what their thinking is, when the Heat top scout said that the Heat want a player in the draft that can step right in and play heavy minutes. That does not sound promising if I am a Heat fan.

They will lose Anderson. Battier is gone and Haslem and Chalmers likely are as well. There is also no special player to sign on the cheap to replace them with.

I actually can see Wade and Bosh opt out and add someone like Lowry to the mix to keep James happy.

What I cannot see James doing is going to a third team in 4 years.

I also agree this whole "LeBron put pressure on the Heat to improve" makes no sense. It's not like Pat Riley doesn't want to do anything. But it's not like Riley can wave a magic wand and suddenly stud role players like Patty Mills and Boris Diaw appears out of nowhere to take Miami's minimum.

To me, LeBron seems to be waiting on only one thing, and that's to see if Melo will join the Big 4(or really Big 3+Wade). Basically see if Riley's sales pitch can get Melo, Bosh, and Wade to all agree to cut their salaries in half. If LeBron's smart, and he's never shown to be stupid when it comes to basketball, he'll see that all other alternatives lead to another massacre in the finals.

No, the pressure is for the Heat's owner to guarantee they will pay the luxury tax if Lebron takes a pay cut. Something he was unwilling to do this season when they got rid of Mike Miller.

If the Heat aren't willing to pay millions in luxury tax to make the team a winner, Lebron isn't giving up millions to make them a winner.

At this point that would be a big 2 + Wade and Bosh.

Lebron supposedly spotted I'm Houston today.

Not sure of validity but it was posted today and it looks like the weather, he's wearing a heat hat though...

Edited with video. After looking at it on my computer, looks like he is getting on a team bus, I can't imagine this meaning anything.

Called it earlier in the offseason. Every city that is interested in a free agent gets "rumors" like these.

Haha. No way. Look at all the cameras. If he was here, either all of us would know or none of us would.
