If we offer him a FA contract, the best we can do is a 5 year MLE contract, which is obviously a pittance. The only way we could pay Rashard like is via sign-and-trade with the Sonics, but given these insane figures ($13-14 million for the first year probably), there is really no reasonable way we could have come up with that much outside of trading McGrady, nor did we really have anything the Sonics wanted. Therefore, there was no way for us to get Rashard once Orlando showed him the big money. There's really no reason to blame the team or Rashard; Rashard wanted the big bucks, someone had the cap space and coughed it up, and this team was not the Rockets.

someone explain why darko is perfect for an adelman team. I don't get that argument at all. I know yao is perfect for an adelman team, but I have no clue how darko is.
This shows my utter incompetence with contract negotiation, but, we couldn't do like a structured deal. He wanted 5 years, why not 5-5-18-22-25? I know teams have done structured deals of that fashion before. As a FA signing we can't do a deal like that? Please do excuse the fact that I am just floored by the CBA. Basically what you're suggesting is what Minnesota tried with Joe Smith, signing someone to a below-market value contract for 3 years and then using Bird Rights to sign them to a gigantic contract, and David Stern owned the heck out of Minnesota for it.
High post offense. Darko has more to his game than what he has displayed in detroit and orlando. Darko likes to face up and in the high post attack he can face up he can play screen and roll, he can hit the 15 footers, It will be like him playing in europe, he will rekindle those old skills and defintely will become 10 times better. He is a perfect fit,morey and adelman need to do everything that they can to get him. Especially if everyone is talking about wanting to win now and contend right now.
Yes, it was reported the Maloofs cancelled the Rocket's trade offer to SAC of Artest for Sura, Snyder and VSpan, which the coaching staff and GM wanted to do, because the Maloofs didn't want to help out Adelman. Dead opp. Darko is unrealistic, IMHO too, since he wants twice the money of an MLE, and someone is bound to give him more than us. I think it's time to go after Amir Johnson with an offer thats hard for Detroit to match. But, I'm quite curious who we are interested in gaining via trade at PF. I'm also interested to see if Adelman wants Francis, now that he's becoming available. The dude has been in the league 4 years, and got 8 ppg 5.5 reb. in 23 mins on an Eastern Conference team. LEMME THROW OUT A NAME HERE: Slava Medvendko 4th YEAR: 8.3ppg 5.1 reb. in 21 mins in the WEST. So Darko just turned 22? What does that mean? It means nothing. T-Mac came into the league at 18, look at him now, he's what 28? But he's moving like he's 32. Age doesn't really matter when you get past 4 years in the NBA, and hell, he was on the Pistons, NBA champs for 3 years, seems like he hasn't learned much. I think he is tricking everyone into thinking he's going to be so good, like 80% of the people on this board, when he says he wants 10 million. But fortunately most NBA executives aren't so blind. And yeah I've watched him play.

He was playing in the wrong system, the wrong coaches, he needs to be in a passing offense,he needs multiple pick and rolls,picks and cuts,passing and moving. Joe smith will be a waste of money and time,So would mikki moore. Adelman doesn't like stiffs, he likes guys who can pass and shoot, He wouldn't play ths e type of guys' in sacramento. Darko would be a perfect fit
