I'd take Byron Scott over McHale any day.

When Kobe was a rookie, Byron Scott was his mentor and I think this will be a nice bookend to their relationship. With Kobe coming back from injury and essentially being ridden off by all the haters, they can essentially start from the beginning. Like in Rocky 3 when Rocky Balboa moved out to LA with Apollo Creed to start from the beginning to get the eye of the tiger back. Byron is hired to help Kobe find his inner mamba again.

He's still better than McHale. Good god, what do Les and Morey see in this idiot.

I can't think of a single coaching job that as completely set up to fail as this is for Scott.

That's pretty close to a no win situation between now and the time you shove Kobe out and possibly sign the big free agent they are planning on. Furthermore, LA isn't Milwaukee where people acquiesce to losing.

    Lamb to the slaughter.

I would take Scott over McHale any day of the week, twice on Sunday.

Soo let's look at George Karl? The article mentions that the Lakers did.
