Even after the Wolves knocked off seeds 2 and 6 on your bracket and were arguably a healthy Sam or Hudson away from the Finals they don't even make the playoffs next season?
Read the link there skippy. I didn't suggest it. I think it's stupid and if NJ takes it they're dumber than rocks. I just reported it. As for Nene, he's a key part of our team. The only way we would trade him to you guys is in a package for Yao or T-Mac. We all know that isn't happening. You guys can keep bashing me all you want, but I guarantee Nene's not on the block. If he was, we would have done the original sign-and-trade for K-Mart when NJ wanted Nene.
Look, I like Nene, I really do. He's quick, strong, and athletic. But have you noticed that Juwan Howard and Kelvin Cato were both better rebounders than him last year? I don't know what's up with him, but he's just not been playing up to his potential. I'm not sure Houston would be the best place for him to develop, either. He's in a better situation in Denver, I think.
You have got to be smoking something STRONG if you think that Nene is anywhere NEAR the player that Yao or TMAC are.
Dude, do you even read my posts? No where do I say Nene is as good as Yao or T-Mac. I said that the only players on your team that we would be willing to include Nene in a package for is Yao and T-Mac.
I think once an RFA is offered a contract by another team it is either match or no match. Than if the player is matched, he couldn't be traded to the offering team for 1 year, or any other team for 3 months and then only with the players approval. I don't see how their could be any negotiations among Denver-NJ concerning KM now that a contract has been offered.
I have to agree with Nugget4. Nene will not be traded unless he is part of a package that includes either T-Mac or Yao. Nugget4- Quick question? HYPOTHETICALLY! Carmelo and Nene for T-Mac. Would you do it?
QUICK ANSWER! No. It's hard, but the fact is we don't know Melo's ceiling yet. Granted, T-Mac is only 26 (correct?), but Melo's only 20. Plus, Nene physically, could be a player like Hakeem. The third year is usually the year that tells the most about a player, so I'm willing to see if he gets his butt under some rebounds this year before we abandon him. I honestly think he just had a sophomore slump. If you watch him his first year, he was beating guards down the floor on fastbreaks. He's a freak athletically, and in the run & gun style that Kiki wants to play, big men like Nene, Camby and (ugh) K-Mart are a premium. Honestly, I'd be more tempted if you offered Yao in that deal instead of TMac. I still probably wouldn't do it RIGHT NOW, but it'd intrigue me more.
If you're Denver, you have to pull the trigger on that deal. Pretty easy decision. You replace Nene with Martin. Also, you either rebound or you don't. Third year or not! Nene is not an "untouchable"!
Page 2 Rankings Sorry Nuggets4, but you're way off on this one. (As are the people who think we can get Nene, it's just not compatible). Carmelo's ceiling is about what you know you have in McGrady. Don't even joke about "considering it" if it was for Yao. I like what the Nuggets seem to have built if they can find a 2 guard. If you get Martin, that's a rock solid big man rotation (Camby, Nene, Martin), a premium scorer/leader in Carmelo, and a point guard in Miller with a solid bench.
Not even I don't think. Carmelo doesn't have McGrady's athleticism and playmaking ability. Carmelo can become a hell of a scoring machine, but he doesn't have the athleticism nor passing ability to get to McGrady's level. Now Lebron on the other hand, his ceiling is limitless.
If KM signs with Denver, the Nugs will have 4 bigs, with two of them becoming free agents in 06. They'll be in the same situation that Detroit was in with Okur. Not enough PT for everyone.
Good read and pretty good rankings...Dwayne Wade was a bit high though. I'd take Amare over him any day.
