I'm glad you can admit that. Most people wouldn't if they were wrong. I liked CP3 over D-Will even then. I felt like he was more skilled and took control of his offense a lot better than D-Will, with less talent surrounding him as well.
Speaking of, how does this dude still have a job? Is there any doubt he is the worst current GM in the league?
With albatross contracts sometimes all one can do is lateral moves. I think Bill Simmons coined the term "Crap Swap." Remember the Rashard Lewis for Gilbert Arenas trade? The KING of Crap Swaps!
Most realistic way I see him becoming a Rocket (or joins any team besides the Nets) is if he negotiates a buy-out and he signs a market-rate free agent contract.
Who on earth would be willing to take those two players? Smith and Jennings are damaged goods, especially playing together. This is like asking to take on Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon right after Dumars signed them.
Deron for Amare wont happen- no way Brooklyn trades him across town even if he does suck. Maybe to the Pelicans for Tyreke or Eric Gordon? And are the Nets the new Clippers?
Do you think there is a possibility for 3 teams trade? Houston - Josh Smith Brooklyn - Jeremy Lin and Houston's filler Detroit - Deron Williams
the mavs will have enough cap space to absorb his contract, and they were after him when he was a free agent, and would've given him the same contract. even if he's declined he's a big upgrade for them. they also have to go all-in with an aging dirk. i can see them making a push. the raptors could make an offer after losing lowry. ujiri is a smart GM but he won't be signing any major free agents in toronto, and there is pressure to win in order to earn money. ownership might overrule him on the decision to make an offer. also, he's got $20 in bad contracts which would be better spent on dwill. salmons, hayes, and fields are all entering their final year and would equal dwill's salary close enough to complete a trade. the raps could send a future pick or so as a sweetener. so the brooklyn papers can print something beyond "we traded swill for salmons, hayes, and feilds" the wolves might be interested as an upgrade to rubio. a trade of rubio, kmart, and budinger would work salary-wise. the wolves would give up 2 one dimentional players (rubio-passer / martin-scorer) for dwill who can do both while getting out of buds contract. the nets will lose peirce this summer to free agency (i bet he goes to the clipps with doc) and a lineup of: rubio-martin-johnson-kg-lopez is better than keeping dwill and signing a free agent SF with the taxpayer MLE. Jkidd might get the most we've ever seen out of rubio since he was also once a PG who could pass and steal but couldn't shoot. rubio is due for a contract extension though so the nets wouldn't save that much money, but would have pieces to help stay competitive. the wolves take on dwill's contract to make one last push to satisfy love before he leaves for the lakers. the rockets might be interested but passed on asik/lin for dwill at the deadline because of his ankles and contract. i don't see them making a push now just because of a first round exit. the kings could be interested, similar to taking on gay's contract in order to get more talent on the roster. but thomas had a better year than dwill, is 20x cheaper, and much younger. they probably pass. the knicks would do it in order to try to convince melo to stay, but i don't think they have anything the nets want beyond expiring contracts. and even if they did the nets wouldn't send him next door. the fans would riot. in the end my money is on the mavs with the wolves a strong possibility as well.
Haha, i am glad you can laugh of my sincere question. Seriously, I expected someone may say why would Detroit want an overpaid PG with glass ankle or someone may say why would Brooklyn trade an all star PG with backup PG. I didn't expect someone highlight Houston - Josh Smith. What do you mean actually with the highlight? Do you think Detroit will not trade Josh Smith? I saw so many Detroit fans want to trade him. Or do you think Morey doesn't want Josh Smith? Isn't it so many Houston's fans wanted him last year, and Morey himself met him in free agency last year, and isn't it if Josh Smith replacing Terrence Jones, Rockets may already win Portland series Game 1 and 2? Please share me your thought, so that I know how foolish I am.
DWill was a beast back he was in Utah. Key word: WAS I liked his game, but it just seems his ankles gave out on him and hes older now, so recovering (physically and mentally) is a daunting task. and this whole thing about Josh Smith coming here...uh, no thanks. We should really focus in on: Rondo: He would really give us the floor general we need so we don't make mental mistakes down the stretch along with an edge and swagger that comes with championship winners. Melo: He would give us that ability to have a third scorer that puts defenses in a bind in a way that Rondo cant
Evans was great the last 2 months of the season, average 20 points, 6 assist, 5 rebounds and a steal shooting nearly 50% from the field. Pelicans were playing around .500 ball after they inserted him as the starting point guard. And literally it was just Evans/Davis and a bunch of trash that should be out of the league. That guy may have turned a corner finally.
How is this a good move for Detroit? Not only did he cost less Jennings actually played better than Deron did last season.
