methinks NOBODY is taking RA's contract, we're just stuck w/ that ish. teams are probably hanging up before murray can even start his pitch
Melo isnt fit to play SF in place of Ariza. That's a morons take on what type of player fits the Rockets and what type of players at the 3 are most effective in the NBA today.
I worry that Luc would be a player that disappoints in the playoffs. I’m worried it wasn’t just about the injury and he’s not mentally tough in that aspect. I’m all for keeping him for sure. He was super important. I would just feel a lot more comfortable if we had someone starting over him.
Z - I think your worries about Luc are totally unfounded. When healthy , he's done nothing but impress x 10...But, I do agree with you about him coming off the bench.
I don't think so. We still have assets to put in play. Besides, there are many ways to use that contract.
You act like good players joining Westbrook and all of a sudden sucking, then moving to a new team and being a great player again isn't a thing it is a thing. It's a very real thing. We've seen this time and time again. We literally see it every year. Last year it happened to be Victor Oladipo. This year.. who will it be? Melo is a decent choice. I see no problem with people having the opinion that once Melo leaves Westbrook he will bounce back as a player. With that belief, I see no problem with those people hoping that the next team he bounces back with is the Rockets. Personally I'm one of them. Bring on Melo.
i'm still wondering why he hasn't had surgery to make sure he's healthy again. that shoulder could end up being a problem again even if he stops dunking altogether.
I don't think it is very smart to trade for Melo regardless of who or what we are giving up. But if he gets a buy out from Okc, then he joins us with Vet Minimum, then we definitely take that chance. He will be a big upgrade over Ryno for sure. If you are the opposing team, you have to guard him on the offensive end. It will definitely help the spacing for CP3 and Harden. The MLE we have left should be used to lock up Luc Mbah Moute. We need him in the worst way because of Ariza's departure to Phoenix.
I don't know if you can SnT in a 3 way, but that would be about the only way to get Butler. Even then salary wise a 4 team has is better but obviously much more difficult to pull off. Butler here, Capela to a team that needs him(it's not Minny), Ryno to tanking team(4th)... Then we have to take back additional salary to make up for the loss of Capela. So good luck finding the guy that Minnesota wants from the team that needs Capela. I maintain Butler and Wiggins for Capela/Anderson/Gordon/picks+rooks is the easiest route. Might still need a 3rd team for Anderson/Capela. And actually you might be able to find someone to take the pair. As Plow said, pain for pleasure. It's a small ball league, Wiggins is way more useful than Anderson. The contract blows but the cap will rise. Wiggins as the 4th star is mighty fine. While I'm not advocating for this, if you're getting a perennial all-star as your third, you trade whatever you can and fill in the rest. Personally I put a lot of value in running back with people familiar with the system, I'd prefer to keep Capela and Gordon. If we're losing Capela, then I try to pull the trigger.
EGo, who is already not thrilled about the team's ball movement, is not lobbying for CP3's friend, Elmo.
Melo plays defense. There's a defense between not playing defense and not being a great defender. Melo defends he's just not great at it, its passable in the right scheme.
