CP3 isn’t worth as much as Lebron. Problem is because of max contracts Lebron is extremely underpaid.
Exactly. I don't get into a guy's reputation with other teams like that. If we're looking at skill set & offensive systems, he's the perfect smallball candidate here. If we keep Luc, with PJ, & add Melo, we'll be fine. The key is keeping Luc
Regardless, the other team will get Melo switched to a perimeter player as often as possible because he is so infamously terrible on defense. Just go back and watch those few minutes Ryan Anderson played against GSW. He just repeatedly got embarrassed by Curry because the Warriors set a screen so RA would switch and be matched up with Curry. That's what opponents will do with Carmelo.
Not a chance in hell Carmelo will be moved in a trade. Carmelo has a no trade clause I believe, and no team that he would want to go to would trade for his $27 million dollar contract. He will be bought out.
A strait Ryno for Melo trade wouldn’t surprise me. It would save OKC some tax money this year and then they could trade him as an expiring contract next year. And we could use the MLE on someone else...
How about we sign a bought out, Melo...and, THEN use the RA contract for either JimmyB or KLove. After ALL moves (MLE) are done, we sign Clint. Just a thought....
Just did some math... I don't know what Carmelo would be bought out for, but if OKC and Carmelo agreed to a $17 million dollar buyout, thus paying Carmelo $10 million less, it would save the Thunder roughly $60 million dollars. I have no idea what a normal buyout amount is, but it's just an example to show how much money would be saved.
Poor Melo. Has to choose between friend LeBron and friend CP3. Was there anything in the article stating how much we could get him for? I only read the snippet in the OP; idk if that was the full article. Which part of what you quoted, was incorrect?
