Back when Chandsome was chasing stats to get that contract and prove he's an elite player, he and Harden seemed to be in a matador contest. It was they, remember, who allowed Corey Brewer to foist fifty-one points against us....and, perhaps, help the Rockets coaches convince Morey to acquire said player and hang an 8-million-per-season albatross contract around the team's neck (last night's Toronto game notwithstanding).

 

If you actually listened to the podcast it sounded as though CP was just trying to go super media mode with those comments. Don't see him seriously considering a return.

 

The problem?

24th-best team on defense, 8th-best team on offense.

The cure?

Add more expensive offensive players, subtract cheaper defensive players.

Been thinking about this almost all year. I wouldn't mind him back at all. If we could hang onto Ariza in the process and perhaps acquire a decent PF at the same time, I think we'd be okay even if Dwight left.

Yea...no way we're overpaying this arrogant bum. I would have liked to have resigned him, but he thinks he's better than he really is...and on a team of conflicting egos that's dangerous.

 

I'll say this-

He was a perfect secondary creator next to Harden. Harden def. has had to carry a heavier load offensively since Parsons left.

That being said, I don't know if the Rockets want to go down that road again. They are bad enough defensively, and Parsons hasn't shown that his defense can get back to where it was his rookie year AND play at a high level offensively.

He also has knee and back issues, and will likely get overpaid possibly beyond what he is making now.

But if the opportunity is there to get him at a value contract, and Morey already made the big moves (whatever they might be) beforehand sure.... why not???

No thanks. When you have James Harden, you need plus defenders at the other 4 positions. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not have TWO scrubs light us up on the daily rather than the one we deal with now.
