Getting rid of Ennis for nothing is annoying. Ellington and Matthews are already signed. Jordan probably won’t be bought out. Overall there’s not much out there that is going to move the needle.
I knew an American board would have a problem with the E, but it's there for my own amusement hehe There's no logical reason to go from D to F. It has to stop!
I give them a C. A C during a critical juncture of Harden's prime is very disappointing. Overall we just spent the whole season getting back to zero after a catastrophic offseason and start to the season. We've wasted half a year cleaning poop.
If we will at least go to the WCF, Morey did a good job. If we will win a ring this season, Morey should be the executive of the century consider how he turned around the roster. If we failed to achieve either of above, that’s a F for Morey.
Completely forgot the Rockets didn't even use their MLE this year... A 65-win, big market team with awful depth... Absolutely embarrassing.
B — I suggested moving Knight/Chriss/Ennis/EGordon/Nene for expiring/non guaranteed contracts. Nuke the team of its dead weight and binding contracts beyond this year. Morey/Tillman did much of what I expected prior to deadline by moving Knight/Chriss/Ennis....some of the exchange in the form of Baldwin/Stauskas. M/T have more loyalty (to Nene-EGo) than I do. I would have been at the luxury tax level while being competitive and freeing up money for this summer. Because... Harden (Capela/CP3/Rivers/Faried/GGreen/Tucker) + scrubs with no money to maneuver this summer.........= [C] Before Deadline Is not as good as... Harden (Capela/CP3/Rivers/Faried/GGreen/Tucker) + scrubs w/ some money to maneuver this summer...= [B-/Inc] Half Nuke Is not as good as... Harden (Capela/CP3/Rivers/Faried/GG/Tucker) + scrubs with more than 15 million to play with this summer...= [A] Nuke IT Is better. [B-/Incomplete] can be upgraded to [B+/A-] if the Rockets can add players like DJordan/Markieff Morris/House/other Buy-Outs to fill open spots remaining. Depending on the Buy-Outs.
People are upset about the organization trying to get under the luxry tax. Its easy to say to spend the money when its not coming out of your own pockets. These people are clearly young and have no concept of how business works. With that being said, the Rockets have clearly gotten better, adding Faried, picking up a defensive minded player with championship experience who actually played the warriors in the finals that year and being able to keep our core pieces that ultimately got us the best record in the league last year and one game away from beating the champs. Not only that, but Morey was able to get rid of the players that we clearly had no use for and was able to get under the luxury tax with room to add more players going forward. The only thing we need now is to get this team healthy, keep them healthy, and build chemistry for the second half of the season to be at their best when the playoffs come and take down the reigning champs which i think they will do.
