He was commenting on not wanting the West to get tougher. Not sure what Brett Brown or the Bobcats have to do with that??

In any case, I think Turner would be a nice add for the Spurs (and the Bobcats) because of the strength of coaching.

But I also dont' care if they get him, because he WILL want to get paid, and he isn't exactly stellar. And the Spurs would have to give up something of value... to either end up with a player on likely too big of a contract, or a player that walks after this season.

Have the Spurs reached that point... where they might be thinking championships or bust, even at the risk of giving away assets for what might be nothing over the long-term?

of course, not sure what assets the spurs could give up? the system makes all of the players not named Duncan or Parker.

I wonder if Charlotte is willing to re-sign Turner tho and where he will fit in the future if he stays,he will be good for them,he has alot of tools IMO. Hopefully they just give Sam one first round pick.

Dont want him on the Spurs itll make the west even tougher.

We get the Charlotte Observer and nothing more than a generic statement about Gordon's expiring has been reported. Think that's, at this point, some optimistic early reporting.

Having said that, I believe what I had read was that there was at issue which first round pick or if we were offering our second round pick and BG's contract.

More here (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/20...ts-playing-too-well-to-tank.html#.UvvL2fldXxQ) but note that he's referring to it as presumption, not confirmed. I haven't read anything from Rick Bonnell (the Cats beat reporter) more than that they are shopping but not finding what they want so far.

    Charlotte is stupid.

They're getting everything but what they need if they net Evan Turner and that's outside shooting.

    No team direction whatsoever.

I still think Charlotte should try to get one of the available Detroit bigs, I'd imagine the pistons would take a package similar to the one they're offering for Evan Turner.

Probably going to be Portlands Pick, its gunna be late in the draft and Charlotte has another two picks in there pocket so its a good trade for Charlotte, giving almost nothing and getting some much needed scoring.

The current worst run franchises in the NBA:
    1A. Cleveland
    1B. Charlotte

    Sacrificing a 1st round pick..for Evan Turner(smh)

    Hinke is Morey's disciple!

Wouldn't it make more sense for the Bobcats to offer that to Detroit or Milwaukee for one of their bigs? I don't see how Evan Turner helps them.

My god, if that Ben Gordon trade is true we must already have a deal done for Lin.

If it's a low pick, it's not bad.

Walker and Turner make up a really solid backcourt. With big Al in the post and MKG still developing, that's easily HCA in the east.

If building around Kemba Walker and Evan Turner is the best the Bobcats can do, they have a sorry future. To be a contender, you need at least one elite backcourt player and neither of these guys will be anything close to elite.

It seems that the Bobcats are simply trying to put butts in seats and compete for the playoffs instead of championships.

Yeah, they are in one of those terrible markets with bad management. They will not win a championship in the next 20 years. Just making the playoffs and having a chance for home court advantage is enough for them. Winning a championship is not the goal.

We are taking about the chance at having the best draft available in the NBA in years. This years First Round pick more than any other year is extremely valuable. Heck they could find the next Evan Turner next year on a cheap rookie salary.

They should be trying to stockpile picks, but since they are in the East, they are clinging on to the 8th seed...Im willing to bet people on this board that the Knicks will pass them up and they will most likely be a lottery team. Hinke knows this...and time will prove this correct. The Bobcats are getting robbed if this trade goes down.

Hinkie has learned from Morey. No way he gets trash for Turner...Turner still has the "Potential" card to sell and someone is going to fall for that and raise the price.

I also think Turner is better than that, no he's not all-star but he's starting on a lot of teams.
