Protesters in the streets in support of erdogon https://twitter.com/arabthomness/status/754074386819321856 Mosques are calling on their members to take to the streets in support of Erdogon https://twitter.com/arabthomness/status/754074615845101569 I seriously fear a civil war will occur. Again, I'm Glad to see AKP go, but there is going to be a lot of bloodshed I fear.
Seems like in ankara there is open shooting against the secret services and tanks have begin shooting against the turkish gparliament but in istanbul and all western cities ppl has gone to the street and they protest the army. And celebrate.
Report of Military Attack on Police Headquarters in Ankara Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency is reporting that a military helicopter has attacked the police headquarters in Ankara, the capital, according to The Associated Press. The report suggested that elements of the military and the police might be taking opposite sides in the upheaval. http://www.nytimes.com/live/turkey-coup-erdogan/?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur
Greek pentagon said that since noon they saw huge armies moving to Ankara but they didnt know why. Now the public has retaken the bridges. Its the first time ever the public has opposed the military in a coup. There are some wounded but the army didnt do too much. So west turkey: erdogan is winning. Capital: army seems to have control
In case you're interested in just how much the media is able to skew the same story, have look at the Al Jazeera live feed which is essentially pro-Erdogan: http://www.aljazeera.net/broadcastschedule It's in Arabic, but turn it on and watch it side by side with whatever you're watching.
You're probably looking for something like this: http://www.france24.com/en/livefeed Relatively balanced compared to US channels, more detail. Maybe malakas has a better recommend.
Im watching a station greek tv which has two analysts who were also in the previous turkish coup. And have many journalists in izmir and istanbul. But not many in ankara. This may not be so important to u but for here this is an earthshattering and dangerous situation. Thats why i cant even go to sleep. Now while parliament is being under siege the politicians from inside give speeches in the internet The biggest turkish news agency anatolia is under control of erdogan .
A tanks is going to taksim square which is full of people and ppl are hiding and running. And shots are heard.

well it is fascinating to watch, though I think it will be horrific over the next days and weeks with organized religious zealots ready to die to defend their religion
Rai is saying erdogan is about to land in Rome in cambino airport however this is spelled. Giul has appeared now three times in would and calling soldiers to give up. In every other city except ankara and istanbul the army has given up. Prussa Izmir etc
Who Is Fethullah Gulen, and What Is His Role? The president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, blamed the coup attempt on the work of followers of Fethullah Gulen, an Islamic preacher who lives in exile in Pennsylvania, and who once was an ally of Mr. Erdogan. Mr. Gulen has for years lived as a recluse at the Golden Generation Worship and Retreat Center, a compound in Saylorsburg, in the Poconos in Pennsylvania. His group, Alliance for Shared Values, had not commented on the coup as of Friday evening. The group describes itself as “an umbrella nonprofit organization serving as a voice for civic, culture and service organizations” across the country. His movement promotes a version of Islam that embraces science, education and interfaith dialogue, which has earned him millions of followers but also drawn the suspicion of many in Turkey’s secular establishment. His movement has been feared by some for its ability to mobilize considerable resources and for its influence among decision-makers.
