You did say we wouldnt make the playoffs if clint was the starting center. Your opinion matters zero around here. Basically anything you recommend, we better do the opposite. You are that wrong on pretty much everything

I can't be rational about Capela. I want him to retire a Rocket, damn the consequences. He's not at his peak yet and he seems like he'll be a "most improved" candidate for a couple more seasons at least. If I were to look at one roster with a clear championship squad but no Capela and another that maybe can't get over the top but we keep Capela, then I'll likely give up my stubborn stance. For now, I want him back no matter what. And I want him to be a Rocket for life.

though capela and deandre jordan are comparable centers people need to understand that when you replace capela with jordan you'll end up with a center who isn't really playable vs. the worriers.

jordan is bigger and stronger than capela and a better rebounder but he lacks the lateral quickness capela has. with capela the rockets can play a real center and still switch everything on defense. with jordan this wouldn't be the case vs. golden state.

Draymond is going to get older in his mid 30s and Clint will be in his prime. Draymond won't always get away with his mugging. Clint youth is important on this older team.

That depends on how strong Clint can become physically and mentally without sacrificing his quickness.
There may be future Draymonds to grapple with as well. Right now, he isn't worth the max.

The teams under $100 mil team salary payroll:
Atlanta, Dallas, Bucks, Suns could use a Center but all are in position to draft one. Bucks have Thon Maker being groomed to be Center (money invested).

Nets, Bulls, Pacers, Lakers (going after Cousins), 76ers, Grizz all have money but have commitments at Center already in place......either by investment of young talent already on roster or high price in current center.

Everyone wants Capela, but if you don’t got the money you don’t get the honey.

Clint is going to sign the Max, and the Rockets will match whether you like it or not, He is 23 now he improved his left handed shot blocking. He is going shoot 3 pointers soon, Mike DAntoni has said not yet, he is shooting midrange in practice and 3 pointers

Steven Adams, Deandre Jordan, Rudy Gobert are making Max Money in Todays NBA, even Joakim Noah is making Max Money and he is not with the team. Today's Salary of NBA Centers is High Because 6'11 7'0 Shot blockers are rare in today's NBA

Sometimes I think Cuban will give the max or near max to Capela, but then I think about his experience with Chandler Parsons. I think they might be better off with a cheaper Noel.
The Clippers were interested in Clint.
Will they trade him for Tobias Harris?
If the answer is yes, I would be okay with that. I know Noel lacks the discipline that Clint brings, but he did improve down the stretch. I would be okay having him as a cheaper replacement for Capela. A Tobias/ Noel combo along with PJ would be a good one. Who knows maybe Ryan might be able to play better off the bench with less pressure, until it's possible to trade him. DJ could be used as a bargaining chip for another player eg a better point guard by LAC.

He is light years away from becoming an automatic or reliable shooter.

Why should I do that? I'm a Houston Rockets die hard fan. I don't hate Clint at all, he is terrific on defense. I don't think he is worth the max though. I never want to see any other team win apart from Houston. I'm very sad that Houston is out of the playoffs. If Clint re-signs for 12-14 M, I'm fine with that.

Saleem you honestly, you don't know anything about Nerlens Noel. Nerlens is such a big head, has such a huge ego during draft day Nerlens Noel he thought he should've been the 1st pick in the draft. Guess what happened knee surgery. Had 1 season off came back played well. Than had a fight with coaches because he wasn't playing well and not hustling. No playing time for him Jahlil Okafor played more over him. The next year Joel Embiid came back 3 years before he was drafted Embiid played and played like a Star, Noel sat on the bench wasted year. Got traded to Mavs. Rick Carlisle played him but didn't like his lack of hustle. Noel got a huge Contract Offer, didn't sign, Noel isn't Smart at all. He will never have that huge contract again. Mavs are not smart anyway, Harrison Barnes, Wesley Matthews, Chandker Parsons, got ridiculous contracts, Noel got injured again never got playing time or The Huge Money. The End
