Agreed. This would have given the Rockets the edge, even with Paul out, and would make Capela a self sufficient threat.

From what I've seen, he has the tools to do it, as he has good foot work, fast reflexes and a soft touch. He obviously needs a lot of work there, and his free throw shooting, plus in MDA offense, I don't think this will ever happen.

    Maybe not, or maybe yes.

Jordan met with the Lakers before ultimately taking $80 million over four years to sign with the Dallas Mavericks, turning down not only the Lakers, but $100 million over five years from the Clippers in the process.

    ...

While Kobe may well shoulder a portion of the blame, there's more to the decisions by Jordan, Aldridge, and Love to steer clear of L.A. than Kobe's attitude and ball dominance; specifically, state income taxes. Even more specifically, California's 13.3% state income tax, the highest in the nation by a large margin.

jordan is going on 30 and his game relies solely on athleticism. this situation is no where near his soap opera with dallas. eventually youll wake up from your dream

What dream? I thought we were speculating about possible scenarios, with possible being the key word here.

I have no desire to replace Capela, as I really like what he brings to the table, much more so than DJ. But based on the facts at hand, it is not that far fetched to think this is a possibility. We know DJ wants to play in Houston, with CP3, he has a history of foregoing more money to go to a better situation and that Capela has suitors around the league, which are probably going to offer max.

If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen, and I guess I'll wake up from my "dream".

speculation is one thing. whats realistic is another. he didnt sacrifice any money. he signed back with the clips for the same amount he was going to sign with dallas for

but once again it goes back to @topfive post that needs to be stickied for the DJ will come for cheap dreamers

Sign and trade Capela, Ryno and EG for Lebron and Love.

Don’t ask me how the numbers will work.

It's already stickied in your head, so why does it bother you so much for others to talk about this? Just ignore and move on...

yeah i realized its a waste of time when talking to people that dont have a sense of realism

if its a rumor, no matter how outrageous it is or doesn't make sense just keep talking about it right

Just to correct a statement you made earlier; DJ DID leave money on the table to sign with the Clippers. Reportedly 7-8 million.

There are so many unknowns in what happens among players and front offices that all we can do as fans is take the little known facts and run with them. There is no real realism when speculating, as long as there are possible scenarios; you can only use the facts at hand (which I already enumerated) and make your assessment. You can agree or disagree, or not talk about it, or whatever, but nothing is real because it hasn't happened, so your point is mute.

I think he picked up the slack when Howard left with regard to rebounding. And that was significant. Because I didn't know he had it in him. In general, I think he's too important to the defense because he can switch, rebound, and block shots, but most importantly, it seems the switching is what moved us into an elite defensive category. I think he's a must keep.

I would do dirty things in this world to get Mr. MIT Morey's honest opinion on your Capela take. Seriously I would soak his words up like mana.

He's shown signs that he's capable of at least developing a nice little hook shot. If he could do that in the next season or two - which I think he can do because he's been a consistent learner since he came in - he could be a real weapon because he'll have something he can go to when the lob is taken away.

I think it all depends on if we could get one Lebron or PG in that order.

If we get Lebron, Tillman may willing to pay more to sign Clint. We have his bird right so we can match any team.
