Rename the Rockets!

    Haven't been on this board for a while. I got too heart-broken at the end of the regular season when the Rockets didn't make to the playoffs. Plus the final exams at BYU, I was absent for a month. Well, now I am back, and I am so happy to see your posts again. I am very glad the traffic hasn't seemed to be subdued by a disappointing season. You guys are die-hard fans. That's how it should be. When I go to the BBS for other teams, the quality is not even close, I mean, not even remotely close. I am happy to be a Rockets fan.

    Talking about Rockets, are you all satisfied with its logo? The Rockets, associated with NASA, is cool. But, if you are given the freedom to choose a new logo for the team, what would you give it? I got the idea from the Charlotte logo talk. This might be really dumb (I do unintelligent things all the time, so I don't mind myself), but it might be fun too.

    I think we could name our team the "Houston Giants" in tribute to Moses and Hakeem, it also symbolize one of our current stud you know who. Or... there is the football Houston Texans, let's make it "Houston Chinese"! Texans are intimidating I guess, but 1.5 billion Chinese are daunting!!! Talking about intimadating people with numbers, why not Houston Bacteria?... sorry, my bad. How about "Houston Viruses"!... OK... "Houston Plague" or "Houston SARS"!!! That would scare everyone off the court instantly and we can win every game, automatic championships!!!

    ... OK, sorry, Jamal is silly again. I can't think of anything intelligent. Help me out here.

    How about we call them the Houston We Get Five Men on Offense but Only Use Ones. If not that then we should rename them the Cleveland Cavaliers so that maybe when teams see us on the schedule they will think they have an easy game and not try as hard. That might give us a few more wins.

    How about the "Houston Austins"... Austin is trying it's best to become like Houston (boo!) and half the Admins and members not from China seem to be from Austin anyway. :p

    You forgot YAO MING, dude.
    ALL Professional teams, including the Comets, Aeros, Rockets, and Astros, are related to NASA "orbiting" or "sky" traveling themes. Now... the name "Houston Texans"... that just boggles my mind. Can you say "out of ideas"? I still support them anyway... just like I will support the ROX no matter what name...

    Keep the NASA perspective. Keep it themed with stuff that goes out of this world or travels out of this world, right?... may I suggest the Houston Aliens? Houston's full of them... I myself being one... (¡Arriba Mexico!) :D
