Hey Smokey--kiss our colletive asses. The Titans can be the Oilers in your world if you like. Screw the Titans, screw Nashville, screw Bud Adams.
I root for the player who happens to be on the team. If by "not be starting off so hot" you mean starting from scratch cause of poor decisions, I agree.
I don't think so. Cash's 3rd quarter TD brought the Chiefs to within 3 points (10-7) but the Davis 4th quarter TD put them up 21-13. That TD was the beginning of the end. We all knew it. It was basically over at that point, even after the Moon to Givens TD that brought us to within a point (21-20). BTW, that was the last playoff game ever played in Houston. For the moment at least... EDIT: But I can see this thread has taken a predictable turn, so I'm out...
Does anyone actually take threads like this seriously? It's a freaking game. Who cares? Stop being so sensitive. We're all boys here, no? Yes threads like these boil down into pissing matches but it is all in good fun from my perspective. My apologies to Texans fans who are offended by calling them the worst expansion franchise in the modern era.
go vince. give em hell everything about the texans is boring all the way down to there uniform and name. pass on vince young and then get rid of the QB the next season. havent seen too many examples of greater stupidity in a professional sports team. go oilers (rip) go rockets go vince young thats how i see it
I'll try to avert the normal downward spiral that these threads always devolve into, especially since all sides are certainly too stubborn to concede points to each other. But, I do have an honest question that I'd love to hear people respond to. During the Music City Miracle game where the Titans came back on Buffalo to advance in the playoffs during their Super Bowl run, did you feel any sense of redemption against the Bills? Especially since that was a team with Oiler holdovers like McNair and Eddie George....Honestly, how did people feel? I haven't lived in Houston since high school, so i wondered what the vibe was after that game, especially from people who hated the franchise once they left town. Where you pissed? Proud? Secretly happy? Just wondering, and reminiscing since that game was on tv the other day....
As long as there were Oilers on that team, I still supported them. No Oilers left on that team, they are just Butt Adams' team, and I have always hated that fat ****. The Texans haven't done much yet, but Ryans is plenty enough for me to hang my hat on. I think Amobi, Mario and Maddux are going to give me much pride this year. Green, Johnson, Daniels, Leach and Winston are guys I really like on offense, and I am real hopeful for Schaub, Walter and Jones. I suffered many years as an Oiler fan before Luv Ya Blue, and I will suffer as long as it takes with the Texans.
I thought it was a cool play and comeback, but nothing more. In the end I rooted for them to lose in the Super Bowl, but it wasn that big a deal to me. I thought getting to the 1 yard line and not scoring was fitting and unsurprising for the Oilers.
