Battier for Rudy and Przybilla works, plus it clears an additional $1.1M in salary cap room for Portland to go after Millsap. Portland would need to be VERY confident in Utah's inability to match their offer sheet for them to make a deal like this. If Utah matches, it's not like the Blazers can take back the deal. Of course, if I were Kevin Pritchard, I'd do this deal regardless.
Can anybody find and post the Olipierre riddle from a few days ago. I think it mentioned Spain and Poland. Is Przbilla a Polish name?
I've heard rumors about us trying to get Bayless, one of my favorite PGs in the league. Would you guys mind this? Houston Trades: Shane Battier, Brian Cook, Kyle Lowry Houston Gets: Joel Przybilla, Rudy Fernandez, Jerryd Bayless It works out as well. I would love this.
It'd be tough to stomach, but I guess there aren't a lot of options out there. Hope we're getting something more back if we give up Battier. He'd be much better coming off the bench if we got Amare, though. And LOL at Travis Outlaw as a Power Forward.
Ok, I admit that I have been looking for Rocket news every minute of my waking hours since the season ended. I would like something big(good) to happen by dang…. All these replies for a picture??????
This whole episode works out beautifully for us. If Utah matches an offer like that, it would make them even more desperate to unload Kirilenko (and by extension the Knicks' pick).
What's with some of the Joel hate? If you appreciated what Deke did for us in his time here then you're gonna love Joel Pryzbilla. - He's limited offesnively but he finishes around the basket. - He's aggressive, plays good man D, protects the rim, blocks shots, rebounds extremely well, dives for loose balls, good at setting picks. - Overall hustler! Just imagine a more mobile DEKE (when he was here).
One thing to note is that Portland needs to be DAMN confident that Oden will step up next year for them to trade pryz. The guy is like a Ben Wallace for them, a true tough guy who shuts down the middle in the midst of a bunch of offensive-oriented players. So in that sense he's worth much more to the Blazers than he is to us. And will likely work as a salary figure in any deal to the Rockets. Which begs the question, who's coming with him? I can't see Battier/Pryz swap straight up. If Fernandez comes I'd cream in my pants. But I'm not sure Portland will give him up.
DD, it all makes sense now. There willing to get rid of Joel to make room for Paul to get more minutes once they sign him. They could have a lineup containing LaMarcus at the 5 position with Paul at the 4.
Right after the year there was talk that Joel would opt out of his contract after this coming year, so Portland would like to get something for him while they can. If they can turn him into Millsap, I don't see why they wouldn't do it. Pugs
