I too find the sociological aspect of this board to be thoroughly fascinating but typically suppress such admission realizing, to quote moestavern, "if I told them this, I might as well have just said I masturbate for a living."
WoW 8-9 mill per year is alot but they did say it was going to be a "TOXIC" offer. Only way Utah matches is if they can trade Boozer before the 7 day period expires if not then Hello Joel Flopzilla and hopefully Rudy Fernandez/Travis Outlaw!
Malick Badiane, a Senegal basketball player drafted by Carroll Dawson. A complete flop and scrub that never saw any time in the NBA. There are numerous forgettable draft picks before Morey came along.
I find it hard to consider any mid 2nd rounder a flop. Will you feel this same way if Eliyahu, Leunen, or Newley never makes it to the NBA?
It's a timely reminder to reconsider our over exuberance with all things summer league. I remember you "The Next Big Thing" Malik Badiane.
Of course he won't. He doesn't have to. It's not his fault a number of readers/posters made an assumption, and overreacted when their assumption wasn't borne out.
It was a flop in one of the deepest drafts in years. He couldn't even get the 15th man on the roster. There are many contributors in the 2003 draft. The entire first round is still playing with the exception of Planinc, Ebi, Troy Bell, and Reece Gaines. Let's look at the other mid 2nd round players, while they weren't stars. They were at least able to contribute as roleplayers. Badiane couldn't even get out of the NBDL team Anaheim Aresenal. 42 Zaza Pachulia 43 Keith Bogans 44 Malick Badiane(NBDL-Bust) 45 Matt Bonner 47 Mo Williams
No. All of them are far are more skilled than Malick Badiane. They all have a much better chance. Their draft classes were not nearly as deep as the 2003 draft class. Leunen and Newley weren't drafted mid 2nd round in a deep class.. They were drafted in the bottom 6. They are still better than Badiane. Leunen looks particularly good in summer league.
Pryz would look awful in the current Rockets uniform. It takes a certain kind of player to meld well with that design.
