No question. Giving up Battier for a lateral move by getting Pryz isn't good value. And I don't think I am overrating our own talent here. Battier is a solid asset and one who's value is more to a team such as the Blazers. We don't need a C that bad that we have to trade Battier to obtain one. We can look at the rank and file in FA. I mean guys like Wilcox or Solomon Jones etc are out there. Pick them up if need be. Ariza is Battier's replacement. Moving Battier now for Tmac's replacement should be what we are looking for. In fact, it doesnt have to me Tmac's replacement. We are just looking for "assets" at this point to build upon.
I would do this depending on how Webster is coming back he was starting to play really well before he had his injury battier cook barry for pryz webster

Sounds like pure speculation on Matt's part...but it makes sense the more you think about it. Rich Lord is unbearable. I feel like he bases all of his opinions on what he sees on Sportscenter. I wish they'd put Matt back with Adam Wexler.

Yeah. Sounds like speculation and not inside info. Plus, I am taking MattJ less seriously after I heard to him refer to the MLE as the "Mid Class Exception". And anybody who thinks Pryzbilla, Scola, Ariza, Wafer and Brooks is a competitive team is crazy. I agree with the other guy. That's a lottery team. In fact, that might be the worst starting 5 in basketball.

Getting Portland to throw in Fernandez in a Battier/Pryzbilla deal isn't that farfetched. Battier would be a surefire lock to start at SF for them; he fits in with what they do that well. If they sign Milsap then Pryzbilla basically becomes somewhat of a dead weight for them, as Oden might be starting as early as next year anyway. They are also logjammed at the wings if they acquire Shane. Roy/Webster/Fernandez/Batum/Battier/Outlaw is a crapload of players at the two positions. No matter how good Fernandez gets he will never supplant Roy as the starting SG, nor can he move over and play SF. Ideally, they'd move Fernandez for a badly needed upgrade at PG. But hopefully they just include him for a badly needed upgrade at SF in Battier.
