so my scenario is this.. i think it works but can't run it through espn's trade machine since millsap is a sign-and-trade HOU trades Battier James White HOU receives Pryzbilla Rudy F. POR trades Pryzbilla Rudy F. Outlaw rights to Koponen rights to Freeland POR receives Battier Millsap Harpring UTA trades Millsap (sign and trade at 6 yrs 55 mil or 5 yrs 45 mil) Harpring UTA receives Outlaw rights to Koponen rights to Freeland James White
I like Battier more than most, probably, but I agree with your thinking. Battier is a player you need if you have immediate championship aspirations. The Rockets do not have those aspirations at this stage. Pryzbilla is a quality C, and probably fulfills a greater need for us right now. It won't be a popular trade if it goes down, but it would make sense.
Im confused people. First off, who is this Mattj? Second, just because he posts a picture of someone, that means we are potentially trading for him? Am I missing something?
Excuse my misspelling. This isn't Hoosiers. Having guys with heart doesn't = games won. All those guys listed (aside from Ariza arguably) were brought in to be compliments to Yao and Tracy, who aren't playing. I think it will be hard for them to change what they have done since they came into the league and be successful with it this year.
Durv, if the Blazers do indeed sign Milsap for huge dollars, then Pryz becomes dead weight to them. No way they can fit him in their plans if they have Oden, Lamarcus, Milsap rotating those 2 positions, not for the $7 mil that Prys makes. If that is the case, giving them a young asset like Landry and expiring contracts would make no sense. The only thing that makes sense would be Battier for Prys + Rudy. In essence, Blazers shed Prys's salary while replacing Rudy for an older veteran leader...not to mention he is the closest thing there is to guarding a Kobe (and lets be honest, this is the biggest factor in any decision).
I remember going to a KSEV charity car wash when I was in Houston, and no, that is not MattJ. This is an impostor.
Yeah, I'd much rather just trade Battier for Pryz+Freeland. We need Pryz more than we need Battier for next season, add another trade asset in Freeland, and still keep 2010 cap flexibility as a back up plan if we can't find a good deal for McGrady.
Landry,Cook/Barry for Joel P is a terrible idea. Landry must be retained. A mid 1st rounder for Przybilla is a bad idea as well.
Although this can probably be done in 2 separate deals, sending White to Portland instead. I think it would work out just fine.
I personally thought the best offseason move they could have done would have been the SnT deal for Andre Miller
Sure I can. Ariza and Battier are nothing alike offensively. Battier is a stand still three point shooter with almost no other offensive skills. (his little jump hook in the paint isn't even worth thinking about) Ariza is a totally different player. He doesn't have great ball handling skills, but he's not a spot up shooter. He's a slasher who goes to the rim. The stats have all been posted on this site various times, so feel free to look them up.
Who do we give up? Battier? Hmm...I'll try to get more than just a straight up trade, BUT, if I can't, I might still do the trade in a heartbeat. The reason is plain and simple, it's reallly really difficult to find a OK center without losing much. We are in a great need for Height at the center position, period.
