Ha! If we can get Rudy Fernandez, then we don't need Wafer...unless he signs for close to minimum money.

I'm leaning towards CCR though. It seems unlikely that we get Fernandez in the deal that people are suggesting (Rudy + Joel for Battier). I mean, Przybilla is a good center, much better than some here seem to realize. But, Fernandez has loads of "upside". If THAT deal goes down Pritchard should call the police because he's been robbed.

Keep in mind there was already a rumor this offseason about Rudy possible wanting to go back to Spain to get away from Portland.

the only problem i see with this type of trade is it kills some of our flexiblity. It would mean we "have" to trade tracy because then letting him expire would on generate a small amount of cap space.

Only if Portland signed Hedo as he was worried about his playing time.

I'm checking all the news sites and twitter but no one has any info... Need more!

I think that original story already mentioned how unhappy he was with Nate McMillan anyway because of the role he was limited to (spot up shooter)

Uh . . . yeah. I posted basically the same trade (without the ludicrous inclusion of an unprotected first round pick) just a few minutes ago.

Come on, now, thacabbage. The first rounder is likely a late lottery pick to mid-first rounder. I'd say it's in the #12-17 range. Please don't tell me you honestly think that "asset" is more valuable than Yao, Ariza, Battier, Scola or Brooks. Even Landry and Lowry might be around as valuable as that pick.

Flopzilla? No thanks! He was waaay to cocky and said he could guard Yao alone, he got wet wet in the butt as soon as Game 1 started!

    # 12 - 17 is still a very good range to select a young talented draft pick.

The DPOY can't guard Yao 1 on 1. I thought Flopzilla had his moments in that series.

To nieve fans, yes you are right, those are more valuable.

But if you went to most NBA executive's I doubt they would place a Yao-less, Tracy-less, Ron-less Rockets in the 12-17 range. More like 1-8 range.

And on a side note, an injured Yao has zero trade value.

Which is also why it's common belief around this BBS that Rudy is only a shooter that CAN NOT create his own shot. Fact of the matter is Rudy CAN create his own shot and do a lot of things and do them well. It's hard to showcase your skills though when a Top 10 player (Roy) in the league plays the same position.

As long as we get Fernandez, I'm happy.
