If you put Joel on this team and stil have battier we'd be unbelievably scary defensively....and offensively. But just through tenacious d we'd have a legit shot at the playoffs. Obviously battier straight up for Joel is a rape on portlands part but if we are getting someone else such as batum or outlaw it's a win win. Sergio is a pipe dream at least in the sense that we aren't getting him and pryzbilla.
I guess hoopsstats got it wrong too... http://www.hoopsstats.com/basketbal...blazers/players/travis-outlaw/stats/09/25/359 It says 70% of his minutes were at SF.
Would Barry+Cook+1st round pick work for Pryzbilla? The Blazers free up the starting sport for Oden and get two expiring contracts and (likely) a lottery pick. We get a serviceable starting C and (if Yao returns in 09/10) a very good backup C.
Trust me, Shane does have value. Many coaches and analysts have both said that Shane is very important for a team that's making a deep run.
Are you serious? We'd give up a first round pick AND add salary for the 2010 offseason to get Pryzbilla? No thanks.
I would never do that. Our 2010 first round pick, at this moment, is the most valuable asset in our entire organization.
Not saying he didn't play some PF, but I think their ratio is about right. He played a lot of SF, remember they started Batum at SF but he only got 18 mpg. Outlaw played the 4th most minutes per game for their team, behind Roy, Aldridge and Blake. Aldridge naturally plays PF and didn't really get much time at center as Pyrz and Oden pretty much evenly split the center minutes, combining for 45 minutes there a game. So, when Oden was injured Outlaw may have gotten more PF time, but otherwise there were 3 minutes of backup center time and 11 minutes of backup PF time - a combined 14 minutes per game of frontcourt backup time. Channing Fyre played 11 of those minutes (in teh 63 games he played). Nate mesed with lineups, and Outlaw got some PF playing time for sure, but on the whole he is and played at the SF position.
Rudy would be an upgrade in my opinion compared to Von. I love Von. Don't get me wrong but I think Rudy would be better for the team.
This thread has definitely has blown up lol over Joel Przybilla and hopefully some young talented assets.
Agreed, plus the only way we're adding that much salary beyond next year would be if we're trading some of it back (battier). But w/o a young piece included with Prys, I'd still rather pass on it.
