Great shooter. And great offensive player. I'm not saying he can't play in the NBA. I think he can. But he'll most likely be limited because he's so slow-footed. He's definitely got NBA offensive skills however. He's an asset. He could come over on a 2-3 year deal, kind of blow up with some hot offense in preseason and then get some run in the regular season and all of a sudden teams want him because he's on a 2-3 year deal at low money.
He will be our next Carlos Delfino, with maybe a little more shot creating. This team really needs some real three point shooters. Hope he is one.
We dont have any forward with his scoring skills. Heck, we dont have anyone with his scoring skills after Harden and Motiejunas. Brewer is likely gone next year, anyway.
Not a comparison. Just saying that Morey prioritizes talent. Whether that talent later on amounts to something in the NBA or not is a completely different thing.
Well, if he comes over to play for us, he has got to pick a different surname. Gentile??? Who is next, Marcus Fragile?
Holy crap you guys are just miserable people. I suggest seeking help, and getting on Prozac or something. Maybe take a vacation. Stop bashing everyone and everything all the time. This guy is a late second rounder that was BOUGHT with cash. Gentile has been compared to Delfino by Morey himself. The guy can flat out create shots for himself. On this team he might be the second best creator from the perimeter. With his national team he's a lot of fun to watch. Really competes and is ther primary offensive creator. The main issue is whatever is going on with his shot and whether or not he's athletic enough in the NBA to still create off the dribble. His mechanics aren't terrible so not sure what is wrong with his shot. However with McDaniels, Brewer, and Smith all probably needing to use the MLE for just one of them to be retained this Summer, I think it puts signing him and or Llull on hold till next Summer when Morey can make his primary moves first and use the BAE (probably more appropriate salary range) on Gentile.
Signing him like Papa and then consigning him to the bench, then trying to use his contract as trade filler -- that's what happened to Papa this year. We need someone with height who can bang inside or someone who can shoot lights out like Mirotic. Otherwise, it may be another waste of a roster spot.
Mostly, NCAA. Do a lot of scouting for NBA drafts, non for any NBA team tho. Did a lot of work past 3 years, European prospects incl. Still young enough to play basketball itself, non professionally Zero wage for any of this, I guess I should call it as a hobby then.
